A Life of Virtue in

Memory of Mother Gladys Griffin Before Sunrise on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, Mother Gladys Griffin went to be with the Lord. She was born to the late James Crooms and Rovena Bernard on January 23, 1947 in North Carolina. She was proceeded in death by her father, James Crooms and mother, Rovena Bernard, brother, James Crooms and daughter, Wanda Barnes. Mother Griffin joined Living Waters Redeemed Apostolic Church of Christ (formally The Way of The Cross Church of Christ) in the year of 1987 where she was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost. She was a faithful member and loved serving the Lord and was appointed as a Missionary Aide. She was also very passionate about the many other auxiliaries she served. Mother Griffin was employed at Howmet Aerospace, Hampton, Virginia; for 30 years before she retired. After retirement, she became and entreprenuer of GG Floral Designs. She later earned her certification in Child Care development, which enabled her to work at a childcare facility. Mother Griffin was truly a loving, caring and devoted mother and grandmother to her family, church and community of friends. We will miss

her dearly. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her son, Warren Griffin, Hampton, VA.; her daughter (granddaughter), Crystal Green, Suffolk, VA; her step sister, Betty Rice, El Paso, TX; one great-grandson, Christoph Green; one great granddaughter, Tikira McGraw; two daughters in law, Kathy Bernard, Hampton, VA and Mollie Bernard, Newport News, VA; one son in law, Bobby Barns, Newport News, VA; Goddaughter, Sophia Colquiett; Godson, Tyree Barnes, and Godmother, Beatrice Jones. She also leaves to cherish her memories her favorite “Loves” Deacon Phillip and Sister Carol Barnes; cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. 2nd Timothy 4: 6 - 8 King James Version

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord The righteous judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto them also that love his appearing.”
