The Life of an
OVERCOMER
Kenneth E. Christian went from labor to reward on Friday, August 20,2021 surrounded by his loving family. He showed out on his way out! He lifted his hands in prayer and praise to his Almighty God! Kenneth was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Ellen Christian; a brother, Gregory Barrett; special aunt, Queenie Perry (who led him to the Lord) and more aunts, uncles and cousins During his early years, he started his relationship with the Lord at Ebenezer Baptist Church in NorthHampton County. He attended Accomack County Public Schools where he graduated from Central High School. He played high school football as a left guard. After graduation, he left the Eastern Shore and came to the Peninsula to start his career. He retired from Huntington Ingalls formerly Newport News Shipbuilding after 44 years as a Nuclear Pumper. On January 22, 2012, he married Shelia F. Manley.
Kenneth, affectionately known as KC or Mr . Wonderful, was a devoted and faithful husband, father, papa, uncle, cousin and friend. Kenneth served wherever he went whether in church, home or within the community. He had a love and passion for working on small engines and lawnmowers. KC worked hard at whatever he did, whether it was teaching people, encouraging people or making people laugh. He would often say “Tighten Up” or “Don’t Buy No Ugly Truck” which means get it together! Then he would say “You ain’t doing NOTHING!” meaning make the best use of your time, get up and do something! KC’s FAITH was always on ONE THOUSAND! His Smile and uplifting spirit brighten every room he entered. Although KC fought stage 4 cancer for over two years you would have never known he was dealing with it to look at him. He believed that his Almighty Father always walked with him! Broken Chain
Little did we know that Morning that God was going to call your name, In Life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we can not see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Love Always Your Girls Kita, Zhane, Dee, Shenita and Lanita
