God’s faithful servant, Patricia Jayne Carter-Brown, was called home on September 19, 2023 to receive her heavenly reward. Her parents Ralph Duncan Carter and Fern Banks Carter were blessed with thier baby girl on June 3, 1951 in Queens, NY.
Patricia was employed at Mount Vernon Adult Day Health Care in Fairfax County, VA. After retiring, she moved to the Hampton Roads area. She became an active member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, Newport News, VA. Immediately she got invlolved singing in the choir and serving any chance she could to assist with community outreach projects such as, feeding the homeless with the Port Program, assembling Thanksgiving food bags, and most recently assisting the church in serving lunch to teachers for Transformation Tuesday.
Pat, as she was affectionately called, was a loving, kind hearted and generous woman. She would do whatever she could for anyone. She enjoyed helping others. Pat was an exquiste baker. Anyday you could walk up to her door and smell the sweet aroma of whatever was baking in the house. In her sparetime she enjoyed arts and crafts. Scrapbooking was a special way she shared memories of special occassions. Pat was active and would often go swimming and fishing, which she learned from her father.
A great reunion in heaven is underway as Pat is greeted by her parents, her husband, Byron Dudley Brown; father -in-law, Charles Dudley Brown; and her sister-in-law, Jennifer Ava Constance Gabriel.
Those left here on earth to cherish her memory are sons, Byron Charles Dudley Brown (Leigh Ann) and Louis James Carter Brown (Britney); five grandchildren, Elijah Davis, Dylan Scott, Evelyn Brown, Xavier Thompson, and Ralph Carter-Brown; mother in-law, Angela Brown; three sister-inlaws, Sharon Brown Wallace, Karen Brown-Jean, Cheryl Constatine; neices and nephews, James Williams, Kendall Brown, Aaron Brown, Kimberly Suarez and Chanel Wallace; special friends, Susan Pettus, Paula McCoy and Marilyn Anderson and host of family and friends.
