Pop music is one of the musical genres which stole people’s hearts because of its sound and style. It dominated the music charts over the past decades that boomed the economy of the country where it originated. It was embraced by people especially the young generations because of the catchy verses and choruses. As it increases its popularity, it is noticeable that it’s becoming generic. When pop music is being talked about, vocals and guitars are very common. Some songs are basically have nothing but voice and guitar. You can’t create a song without vocals that includes singing, screaming, rapping or spoken word. When it comes to guitar, the best types of guitar used in making pop music are bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar. But of course, a good music cannot be considered a good music without a beat. Drums’ main role is to give sick beat to pop music and enhance the music’s mood and rhythm. There are still

Punk rock songs usually start in a simple harmony that will lead to bass and guitar strumming, loud thump of drums and then the meaningful lyrics and notes follow as it flow into the abyss of space being sung in a very loud and aggressive voice with a very high energy of performance. Lyrics that hold a significant meaning that artist are trying to express in a way of using art. As cliché as it sounds, when you hear the term Punk rock music the things that come into your head are loud raw vocals, powerful chords and high level performances. As for the punk rock enthusiasts, they’re stereotypically described as delinquent, who has dyed hair, who wears socially rejected leather jackets or clothes, noticeable chains and striking dark makeups. These descriptions can be true at some point but there’s so much more to Punk Rock Music that makes it a very unique genre.

Punk rock music has said to be originated from England and United States in the late seventies. Most of the punk rock songs are concerned current issues in the society. According to Patti Smith, “Punk rock is just another word for freedom.” What makes this genre very unique is that is known as musical freedom of artists because it was used by many bands such as the Bad Religion, Ramones, The Clash, the Sex Pistols, Blink-182 and Green Day as a platform of expressing opinion, thoughts and feelings freely to debunk and refute social attitude based on the ignorance of human nature and societies norms. Many people have been saying that “Punk Rock is Dead” probably because the stereotype description about punk rock music and culture have been quite subtle for a while now but in fact it is still evolving and alive as ever until nowadays. Culture of it such as the thing called “moshing” or the “stage diving” in live shows are still being done by some artists as well as enthusiasts in various punk rock concerts. Punk rock songs are usually short and fast-paced with hard-edged melodies and singing styles, strippeddown instrumentation, and often political, anti-establishment lyrics but it is just like any other genres in the music industry. Its main concept is still to express one’s feelings through the use of art and sound.

A musical genre that originated in the southern united states during the 1920’s was known as Country and Western Music which was derived in 1949 from the recording industry to replace the label hillbilly music. This was also introduced to the world as the “Southern Phenomena” This genre includes simple forms of ballads which is mostly accompanied by string instruments such as banjos, electric guitars, steel guitars and acoustic guitars as well as fiddles and harmonicas that is being used till today. Typically, a country music artist is described as a person wearing a cowboy hat, with tucked in long sleeves and killer boots which isn’t really a false statement since most country artists really imitate this kind of style because they can easily be distinguished. One of country music’s earliest style was the oldtime music that was first recorded in the 1920’s, with the recordings of the Carter Family with its members A.P Carter, his sister-in-law, Maybelle and his wife Sarah. Some of their songs like Wildwood and Single Girl- Married Girl became hit records that led them to becoming the first stars of Country music. Another great artist that contributed a lot to Country music was Jimmie Rodgers who was known as the “Father of Country Music”. He was able to combing different styles of this said genre to his songs. He was also known for using a vocal technique called yodelling, which he made popular. There are many genres of music, but one of the greatest and most remarkable is the classical music where light and elegant music are being played by the famous pianist like Mozart and Beethoven. It started between the year 1730 and the year 1820. Classical music is mainly homophonic and it uses style galant which emphasized the light elegance of music. It is also known as Western art music that describes the variety of Western musical styles from the middle ages up to the present time. Classical music greatly emphasize a single melody that all instruments played or the homophonic melodies. It allows dramatic interest to be complimented by musical contributions rather than by heavy melodies. The classical period is a time when composers began to pull in the reigns of baroque period musical styles by creating strict “rules and regulations to the compositions. If there are historical periods of music classical music also has its historical period. There are different kinds of musical music where our modern classical music evolved from. Medieval Classical Music is the longest and most distant period, it also includes the Gregorian chant, the vocal religious practice of the Roman Catholic. Renaissance Classical Music started because one of the bishops back then commented that music composition should be reflected to the meaning of the words so that it would bring people closer to God. Baroque Classical Music is colourful and richly textured.
Baroque period is the period where human emotions are expressed and it depict natural phenomenon. Classical Music has strong connotation and it has disciplined expression. The Romantic Classical Music was expressive, but no so passionate. Beethoven who was in some ways responsible for igniting the flame of romanticism. Great composers like Haydn and Mozart was still able to create some of the greatest classical composition that the world has ever known even if classical period was within their rigidity. Classical period composers contributed to the course of music forever. Without these composers there may be no Disney classical music that takes our breath away.
