Information How to use this Lifelong Learning Booklet This booklet is arranged in sections, by category. Each section/category corresponds with a color: Workforce Development courses (pgs. 4–7) include trainings intended to enhance an individual’s on-the-job skills, or provide skills for possible entry into a new profession. Health Care and Paramedic workshops (pgs. 8–9) are intended to meet industry-specific needs of aspiring and current health care professionals. Many classes fulfill mandatory continuing educational requirements, while others provide pre-licensure or pre-certification preparation for access to the health care and paramedic fields. Personal Enrichment workshops (pgs. 10–11) include classes that people take for enjoyment and self-development which may fulfill professional needs, as well. Online Learning workshops (pg. 12) are delivered via the internet, and may require textbooks and other materials. Online courses are either asynchronous which can be completed any time or synchronous which requires you “attend” scheduled online sessions “live” at a set time. Summer Credit Courses/Online credit (pgs. 13–15) meet the requirements for our certificate and degree programs.
