Cancer Survivors Retreat to be Held in La Quinta

Life after cancer has emotional and physical challenges that can be as hard for survivors to navigate as the treatment was. Life doesn’t automatically go back to what it was before the diagnosis, says Coachella Valley resident Shay Moraga, a breast cancer survivor. She formed Shay’s Warriors: Life After Cancer in 2017 with a mission to “inspire, inform, empower and help heal cancer survivors and their families through health, fitness and the mindbody connection.”

The organization’s annual four-day, three-night “I Am Hope Survivors Reset Retreat,” offers support and help for survivors in moving forward after treatment, and this year, will be held in La Quinta June 8-11.

Forty nominees will be chosen to attend this year, with all but travel expenses paid. The nomination process for attendees is now open through March 15. Learn more at ShaysWarriors.org.
