Laura Abner (Bellina)
Laura Abner is a professional running a busy itinerant style dressage training business in the Aiken, South Carolina area. Laura is a Silver Medalist and strong competitor in Region 3 who dreams of becoming a CDI competitor. She enjoys training horses of all breeds to attain success in competition. In late July 2019, Laura imported her mount Bellina, a 5 yo Danish mare by Boney M (by Bellissimo). They have been forging a bond ever since and working toward competing in the six-year-old test next year.
Chelsea Akavickas (Deo) Chelsea Akavickas is a young professional who started as an assistant to Jodie Kelly, and has since ridden with Conrad Schumacher, Jeremy Steinberg, and Laura Graves. Chelsea achieved her USDF Bronze and Silver medals on self-trained horses and hopes to do the same for her Gold. She recently started her own training and sales business based in Tallahassee, FL. She is currently preparing to compete her horse at Intermediate-1 while working towards the Grand Prix. She hopes to one day be a CDI competitor. Chelsea is riding her own horse, Deodoro V.O, a 12 yo Lusitano gelding who was imported from Brazil as a young horse. 2
Julie Cochran (Jumper do Vouga / Rhys) Julie Cochran is a trainer from Gainesville, Georgia. She earned her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals on a horse she trained herself. She is also USDF certified T-4th level and graduated from the “L” program with distinction. She has brought several horses and students successfully to the FEI levels.
Absolut Summer (Alethea Tinkle riding)
Julie is riding Alethea Tinkle’s horse Absolut Summer. Rhys is a 5 yo, 16 hd registered Oldenburg by Aloha, a Hanoverian stallion. Backed in August 2018, Rys has naturally progressed to first level quickly with his good gates, work ethic, and balance. Rhys was started and is primarily ridden by his owner Alethea Tinkle. Julie is also riding Jumper do Vouga. With phenomenal gaits and an eager to please demeanor, this 5 yo Lusitano is definitely a horse to watch! Imported from Brazil, Jumper Do Vouga is owned by Naida Mirza of Atlanta, Georgia.

Jamie Comstock (Florante YF) Jamie Comstock, trainer and instructor at Shadowbrook, received riding academy instruction in the FEI disciplines in the early 1970s. As a result of teaching, training, and learning ever since, Jamie’s students and horses have enjoyed careful and methodical training in the discipline of their choice.
Florante YF (Kim Pate riding)
Jamie Comstock is riding Kim Pate’s 8 yo gelding, Florante YF. He is a 16.3 hd Oldenburg (Florestan/Jazz) who has been competing 3rd level with his amateur owner and plans on competing at 4th in the new season.

Marjolein Geven (Bruce / Gucci) Marjolein and her husband, Werner Geven, are the trainers at Poplar Place Farm, an Eventing barn in Columbus, GA. She trains with her husband and takes yearly clinics with Conrad Schumacher. Marjolein is a Centerline Score 5* rated rider and a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist and a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Freestyle Bar Medalist all on horses they imported as 3 year olds.
Bruce
Gucci
Marjolein will be riding Bruce, a 12 yo Oldenburg gelding by Florencio I, owned by Alex and Donna Gafford. Marjolein has been showing him up through the levels and they have competed successfully at the PSG and I1 this year. They look forward to continuing to build their strength and improve their engagement to become even stronger and more competitive at the PSG and I1. Marjolein will be riding Gucci, an 8 yo Dutch warmblood by Ampere and owned by Susan McCoskey. He has been very successful through 4th level, including several regional championships and placing in year-end USDF awards. Their goal is to improve their connection and engagement to make the big step to PSG and I1 this year.

Cassidy Nutter Lambert (Brandy / Bella) Cassidy comes from a dressage family. Through her mother Gigi Nutter’s influence, Cassidy has ridden with outstanding trainers such Karl Mikolka, Walter Zettl, George Williams, and Gunnar Østergaard. In 2016, Cassidy started her own training and teaching business, Candor Equestrian. Goals as a trainer: • Make sure that all of my students ride with “feel” and an understanding that Dressage is a sport for all breeds. You just have to believe in the horse. FWF Baroness Von Ballerina (Brandy) • Earning a USDF Gold Medal on a horse that she has trained • Competing at the CDI level Brandy is a 16 yo Georgian Grande mare, FWF Baroness Von Ballerina. She is the first horse Cassidy has taken to the FEI level. Challenge: maintaining impulsion throughout lateral movements and the overall quality of the canter half-pirouettes. In 2018, Cassidy earned her Silver Medal on Brandy. Her 2020 goals with Brandy: solidify the PSG and begin competing at Intermediate-1.
Bellacor (Bella)
Bella, owned and bred by Cindy Bregenzer (Wright’s Gate Farm, Commerce, GA) is an 7 yo Percheron/TB cross. Bella is a sensitive mare with defensiveness to the hand. She competed successfully at Training and 1st level. Challenge: Unlocking her pole and having her respect the downward transitions more, as she has a tendency to get strong and resistant to half-halts. 6
Karen Lipp (Infinity) Trainer & Coach. Karen is a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist as well as a Centerline Scores rated 5* rider. Karen’s primary focus is training the competitive horse and rider from beginning levels up to Grand Prix. She is especially passionate about training Adult Amateur riders. Her students have won numerous champion and reserve championships, USDF gold, silver and bronze medals, the Brentina Cup as well as Young Rider grand prix championships. In addition, Karen is an accomplished FEI-level dressage rider who has won several national and international competitions and has trained over 11 horses from training through the levels to the grand prix.
Shannon O’Hatnick (Oryx) Shannon started as a working student at Benchmark Farm and Broad Hill Run Farm, LLC schooling young horses and learning barn management skills. She lessoned with Jim Koford, Jessica Joe Tate, Sinead Halpin, and many others. Shannon is an enthusiastic and talented training instructor for students of all ages and levels of ability with a focus on teaching balanced seat riding based on Piaras Fiodh “Oryx” 4yo Belgium Warmblood owned by Lisha Marshall. classical training principals. Shannon is currently working on completing her USEA ICP Certificate. She will begin her USDF Trainer Certification during this coming up show year. 7
Olivia Reese (Rebellienne) Olivia Reese is a trainer based in Powder Springs, GA. She specializes in working with adult amateurs and horses of all levels by teaching them correct basics through classical dressage principles creating both happy horses and riders. In 2020, Olivia will continue work with her mentors Kim Sosebee, Lauren Sprieser and Patrick King to progress to the FEI ring and earn her final USDF medals. Rebellienne HVH is a 2009 Elite Hanoverian Mare. She is a past National USDF HOY (3 yo Materiale) and also National USEF Young Horse Dressage 4 yo Champion. After several years producing Hanoverian babies she is returning to the competition ring in Nov 2019 with trainer Olivia Reese (currently 60 days back under saddle). Rebel is bred and owned by High Valley Hanoverians.
Laura Sevriens (Harriet HF) My husband and I along with my daughter run Blalock Lakes, a boarding/ training facility in Newnan, GA. I have trained young horses thru the FEI levels and have competed numerous horses thru I2 at the national level. Harriet HF is a 7 yo KWPN mare by Uphill X Jazz. She has competed thru second level and has done one show at 3rd level. She is schooling all the 3rd level movements. She is owned and bred by Julie Haralson also from Newnan. 8
Julie Shannon (First Class) Julie has trained with many of the best dressage professionals worldwide. Using classical training principles, she maintains a select group of students and their horses; focusing on their physical and mental partnership development in the sport of dressage. The benefits of correct riding are emphasized to develop the horse”s mind/body/ spirit as a willing partner; no matter what discipline. Julie’s passion is the harmony established when communication between horse and rider become connected and make the dance of dressage feel easy and fun. She regularly hosts world-class clinicians and is nationally recognized for promoting dressage education in our region. Julie is riding Julie Lathrop’s 10 yo gelding, First Class, a 17.3 hd Oldenburg gelding (Furst Romancier/Sir Donnerhall I). He is a substitute for Julie’s injured 7 yo mare.
