NATIONAL CORVETTE HOMECOMING TO RETURN IN 2018 37th annual event will be May 31-June 2 at the Hilton Garden Inn Bowling Green, KY., February 21, 2018– It’s “back to the future” for one of the area’s longest-running automotive shows. The National Corvette Homecoming began 37 years ago in the parking lot of the Red Carpet Inn. In 2018, the Homecoming celebration will reinvent itself in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn. Joe Pruitt, founder and owner of the National Corvette Homecoming, had announced in 2017 his intent to sell the show, but he has decided to rev it up for another year. This year, the Homecoming is May 31-June 2. “I didn’t want to see the National Corvette Homecoming die,” he said. “I tried to sell it to about three different organizations, but we could not get together. I am going to run it as long as I can. I’ll see if we can get someone else to take it over rather than let it die or go away.” Planning for the 2018 event is underway, and updates will be shared at CorvetteHomecoming.com and on the event’s Facebook page. Pruitt said prices will be lower for participants this year, and spectators will be admitted free. The National Corvette Homecoming is one of the oldest car shows in the country, and at one time, it was one of the largest. “I feel a lot better than when I made the decision to sell it,” Pruitt said. “Hosting the National Corvette Homecoming has been a lot of fun, and I am not ready to stop having fun.” ### If you would like more information about the National Corvette Homecoming, please contact Joe Pruitt at (270) 791-2117 or email him at joepruitt@corvettehomecoming.com.

Dragstrip Revival: Crossville Dragway To Reopen In 2018 Editor’s Note: This is our kind of news on Drag racing! Official Press Release: Crossville Dragway has provided 40 years of drag racing action for racers and automotive enthusiasts in Central and Eastern Tennessee. The eighth-mile drag strip, founded in 1978, recently underwent a ground-up renovation. This enormous investment brings the track to modern standards with a new all-concrete racing surface, upto-date equipment and many new features to attract racers and fans alike. Crossville Dragway announces that it will be open for business in 2018 with new ownership and a strong desire to provide exciting drag racing action with a safe and family-friendly environment every Friday and Saturday during the racing season. Michael Newcome and Rick Wetherbee signed an agreement with the right to purchase the Crossville Dragway effective Friday, February 10, 2018. Newcome and Wetherbee have been drag racers for many years, often attending races at Crossville Dragway under its previous ownership. They have hired Charlie Patterson as Race Director for all bracket racing in 2018, and there will be a points program, offering benefits to regular racers. Newcome and Wetherbee also plan to host a monthly heads up racing program, to bring in some of the fastest door slammers in the country. Other special events are planned, including a special race featuring “Boosted GT” and “Kayla” popular racers on the show “Street Outlaws”. Special events like this offer fans an exclusive opportunity to meet famous racers, and watch their cars blast down the eighth-mile drag strip. Later in the year, the Rocky Top Diesel Shootout will make its return to Crossville Dragway. It is a national event for diesel-powered vehicles, and draws hundreds of racers and thousands of spectators.

In regard to the recent announcement, Crossville Dragway co-owners offer an invitation to all racers and fans to join them when the gates open for 2018. “We are excited for this opportunity and look forward to creating some great racing events for years to come”, said Rick Wetherbee. “We are going to put on some awesome events in 2018 for fans and racers alike”, said Michael Newcome. Crossville Dragway will remain a family-oriented facility, and both Newcome and Wetherbee’s families will be working at the track to make the 2018 racing season fun for everyone. Crossville Dragway will begin its season in March with Test and Tune sessions and grudge racing, as weather permits. A full racing schedule is published at www.crossvilledragway.com. For more information about the new and improved Crossville Dragway, please call 931-210-6607. 7

In Detroit, at the AUTORAMA each year, there is one award that is watched and coveted at the same time. Watched by... dare we say... millions around the planet, to see who made the cut to be a GREAT 8 Finalist. Many entries try each year, to make the Great 8 sponsored by Pirelli, but only the best 8 in the building, as selected by the RIDLER Judging crew, get to see the GREAT 8 banner placed inside their display. If you have never seen the emotion that comes out when it happens for the car owner and builder, it is something to see. Every emotion you can think of comes to the fore front for the people involved in the build.
