“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….”

you wont give yours away will you? Call us if you are As I write this, the HUGE BarrettJackson Scottsdale Auction/Event is under way.

In both of these cases, opinions are expressed, both pro and con and the comment war is one.

It really is more than just an auction. It truly is an event! Yes the auction is the primary deal, but with so much more going on outside the auction tent, it truly is a GEARHEAD LOVERS EVENT!

Here’s how I look at it. Barrett-Jackson is but one auction in the year. Scottsdale is a biggie, but it Is still an auction. Sellers try to get the highest price for their car ( you wont give yours away will you? Call us if you are!), and bidders try to buy at the lowest price possible. They are not looking for a deal but a steal! This is how it works.

It is interesting to see the many comments that are all over the “InterWebFacebook-Instagram-Social Media outlets. We as gearheads have our opinions and are not afraid to put them out there...LOL.

Yes some of those extra special deals bring BIG BIG money, but that is a small group of buyers involved. Good for them and I am glad they are spending their money on cars. Were you there? A buyer on the phone...probably not.

The comments that I find intriguing are the ones that talk about the BarrettJackson auction ruining prices for cars. Really? Personally I do not see it. I don’t see Barrett-Jackson setting any future price points either.

Buying and selling any car at auction, in a private deal or even at a dealership is between the buyer and seller only. If both parties are happy...the deal gets done. You may have your own opinion about who paid what or sold for what, but its just that, an opinion. Like momma said, smart to keep your opinions to yourself sometimes. Hard to do and I will raise my hand first.

Whether a vehicle goes real high or in the middle or low on the auction block,,.,is your opinion of the sale. The other thing that happens, yes it does, a person sees a car like they have go across the block and of course theirs is in pieces scattered in their garage and they right away think thy have a gold mine. Admit it, you know what I am talking about.

Enjoy the TV coverage...if you are there enjoy the event….this is what hot rodding is all about...having FUN!!

In some cases the opposite is true. Person has a really nice car, sees one go across the stage and sell for less money then they thought it should have. 5

“the fun starts here”….

Barrett-Jackson Muscle Car Preview For those of us who can’t make it to this years Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, the real fun starts on Jan 16th when the TV coverage and streaming coverage begins.

Before any of that can happen work has to be done getting all those cool cars, trucks, motorcycles, memorabilia and other cool stuff ready to sell. There is a method to the madness. Certain cars at certain times on certain days to ensure the most interest in the sales. Getting more than 1,700 plus vehicles staged, cleaned and ready for auction is one big job. The Barrett-Jackson team has that down to a science and smooth process. Recently, the exclusive media day preview took place for the 47th annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. The auction is held and has been held for years at the WestWorld of Scottsdale AZ complex.

6

Just days before the official opening of the auction, on January 13, the massive building, which also serves as the auction area during the event, had over 100 cars staged and more on their way in. The crews worked hard to get the cars in place despite the presence of a few automotive journalists taking photos and video for their respective outlets. Here are some of the Muscle Cars you will see over the course of the auction go across the stage and see and hear the hammer come down saying they are SOLD SOLD SOLD and headed to a new home with a new owner. If only we had hit the recent big Lottery Jackpots‌. 7

Louisville, Kentucky is famous for many different iconic events and locations, and not just in the hot rod world. The Kentucky Derby, Louisville Slugger, and of course it is the home of Kentucky Fried Chicken – just to name a few. However, there is one event that has taken place every year for the past twelve years, which is quickly becoming the place to be in Kentucky in the late springtime. Beatersville number twelve was held on May 27, 2017 in LOO-Ville. The Beatersville Car & Bike Show is best described as a massive party for anyone who enjoys old school traditional customs, rockin’ rockabilly, and of course we can’t leave out the sexy pin-up babes. But don’t let the name fool you, it’s not all rust and rats, there are some incredible custom machines that will leave you slack jawed and drooling on your “chucks”. Who would want to miss out on all the fun that this show has going on?!

18

Beatersville has been known as a massive party for anyone who enjoys old school traditional customs rides and the hot pin-up women competing for the Miss Beatersvile contest.. Even if you aren’t into the old rides, don’t worry! There are still some not so traditional cars and trucks that will be sure to catch your eye. Now held in the Warehouse District at 15th and Portland Ave, this show has done nothing but grow each year. The event pulls cars, trucks and motorcycles from all over the Midwest as well as some long distance travelers from area’s like Nashville for one. For 2017, Mikey Brown won Beater of the Year with his 1953 Ford F100. This ride is a beautiful white with purple as its accent color. This ride is something Beatersville had have never seen before, and they were loving it! Congrats Mikey!

Beatersville will celebrate LUCKY #13 in 2018. Make your plans now to attend one of the coolest 1 day shows around. Additional info including online registration can be found on their site, www.beatersville.com. 19
