Now having fun doesn't just mean having gearhead fun or cool car fun. Are you just plain having fun in your life?

The year is flying by at a rapid rate. Based on the speed at which time flies by ( the older we get it sure does go faster) my question to you is…”are you having fun everyday?”

Reality says not everyday is full of fun and good times. But shouldn't most days be fun...HECK YES!

I ask you the question on fun because of a recent documentary on Gregg Allman who just passed away.

Life is too short not to have fun. Sometimes you have ask yourself , is what I am doing what I really want to do? Now don’t get me wrong, punching the 40 HR work clock is a needed to put food on the table and clothes on the kids. But isn't there a point where you have to ask, “when is enough...enough?”

The piece was replayed from an earlier broadcast date with some extra in it due to Gregg’s recent passing. In the piece, the reporter doing the story asked Gregg how long was he going to continue to play and sing? Gregg with no hesitation told the reporter, “until the day I die, cause I am having so much fun!” Read that last line again. Now ask yourself, “am I having fun?” Be honest with yourself when you answer the question to yourself.

As I was told 13 years ago while I laid in a hospital bed, Jim you don’t control when you’re born or when you die, so make everyday count. I am doing that everyday gearheads!

Road Rumblingsâ&#x20AC;Ś. Deuces of the Bluegrass Car Show Story/Photoâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s by Mark Cain

We had a great day on April 29th at the 1st Annual Deuce's of the Bluegrass Gathering. All week long and even the night before the forecast wasn't favorable for a outside event on Saturday. The southern part of Illinois including St.Louis was under flood warnings. Rain, floods and strong winds didn't stop Marty Bachand and his wife in their 33 Ford 3 Window Coupe! He was our winner of the 1st Annual Long Distance Award in Memory of Ron Hickman driving over 360 miles to Lexington. Paul Miller Ford and Fortune Collision Center were both great hosts for the day, serving BBQ lunch with chips and a drink to every guest including their entire staff allowing us to use one of their many parking areas for the Pre-62 event. With the rain we knew that a low car count was possible, but I told my wife I would be happy for the first event to have 50 cars and at least 10-12 Deuce's. We had 44 Pre-62 cars and 12 Deuce's...not bad for the 1st Annual event! Everyone had a good time and shared they would be back and bring friends to help us grow this event. Everyone also expressed that this was a worthy cause and wanted to see it grow. We raised almost $3500 for the day with Paul Miller Ford, President David Wilson and Madison Rose Jr., the account executive from Zipie Marketing presenting a special gift check of $1000 to Shelby's Way. We are so thankful to our great partners like the Paul Miller Ford Group and to all who attended the event buying Deuce's of the Bluegrass Tshirts and raffle tickets. I firmly believe it takes a village to move a mountain and I Love all those who attended and who will attend next year! 6
