“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….”
“Getting out of the shop is good for your mind” BAM!!
I have said it over
Say hello to September gearheads. It came a whole lot faster than you were planning...didn't it? It did for us that for sure.
and over and I will again, hot rodders, gearheads car guys and gals are the most caring and giving that I know or have seen.
As I said last week, our weekly issues will SWELL with gearhead fun for the next few weeks as this is prime time car show season across the USA.
It’s time to show that spirit once again gearheads. As you know, Houston Texas got slammed by Hurricane Harvey a couple of weeks back. Devastation pts it at minimum. This was a bad one.
Don’t sit in front of the TV or play with your “Device” (quit thinking that we mean I-pad, phone or other electronic gizmo) you have and DRIVE that cool car you have to one of these events going on.
No matter how well prepared folks were, it was worse than they ever thought it would be. Check our page 33 of this issue to see how you can help. RODDERS HELPING HOUSTON is a great way to lend a hand to those who really need it. Give what you can. $5, $10 or whatever will help and make a difference. All money will be donated...no fees taken off the top. Skip that happy meal and help someone out.
Your ride not done...that’s ok. Jump in your daily driver and go check out an event or 2 or 3. Getting out of the shop is good for your mind and soul once in a while. If you don’t see your favorite event or one you put on, it’s cause no one sent it to us to share. Send it to us today!
What you give, comes back to you!
Jimmy B.

Harvey May Have Wrecked 1 Million Cars and Trucks! Hurricane Harvey and its catastrophic aftermath likely destroyed more vehicles than any other natural disaster in U.S. history, according to several early estimates. The storm may have ruined up to 1 million vehicles along the Texas Gulf Coast, according to automotive data firm Black Book. In the Houston area, about one in seven cars may have been destroyed, according to analysts from Evercore ISI, an investment banking advisory and research firm. Michael and Pansy Granberry took two feet of water into their home in the suburb of Friendswood. But losing three cars felt almost as painful as the damage to their home that will require extensive repairs. The couple suspects all three vehicles suffered electrical damage that will be too expensive to fix. Harvey destroyed about 300,000 to 500,000 vehicles owned by individuals, Cox Automotive chief economist Jonathan Smoke estimates. Insurance is expected to cover a large portion of those losses. Another 366,000 new vehicles stored on dealership lots were probably "affected," with about 150,000 to 200,000 of those cars and trucks located in the hardest-hit areas, Jessica Caldwell, an analyst for car-buying website Edmunds, estimates. Black Book says more than 500 dealerships in the Houston area were affected. That included all 17 stores owned by AutoNation, the largest dealership network in the U.S., which reopened its locations Thursday. Black Book estimates the number of vehicles that must be replaced at 500,000 to one million.

As you all know, an American tragedy has been unfolding in recent days which has lit a fire in the close knit hot rodding community. With Hurricane Harvey devastating the city of Houston and its communities, hot rodders worldwide are taking action. Rodder's Helping Houston, a hi-octane fundraising campaign, was launched yesterday with the aim of fueling the Houston flood relief effort. The money raised through the Rodders Helping Houston Youcaring.com page will go directly to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund administered by GHCF. https://www.youcaring.com/hurricaneharveyrelieffundadministeredbyghcf-929410
Let's not forget those in Houston who are dealing with the overwhelming aftermath of this natural disaster. Car guys and gals around the world are urged to do what they can to help rebuild the lives of those in the city of Houston who need it most. Every dollar counts and no amount is too little. All money you donate goes to those in need! Get on the gas and donate what you can! Sincerely, The Goodguys Family
