Snyder opened the first In-N-Out Burger. In-N-Out's first location was opened in the Los Angeles suburb of Baldwin Park, California, in 1948 by the Snyders at the southwest corner of what is now the intersection of Interstate 10 and Francisquito Avenue. They served the freshest burgers, fries, and drinks in a friendly, sparkling-clean atmosphere. And the times, well, they have not changed at In-N-Out. The menu is still the same basic menu that people have enjoyed since 1948. I can personally attest to great food at IN-NOut every time I head west for hot rod fun.

Cool cars and Drive-In’s have gone together since way back when. Back in the 30’s the drive in restaurant was getting popular r al over America as more and more people bought cars and enjoyed their new found freedom on the open road. In 1948, in Southern California, 2 new businesses were getting started. Neither knew about the other starting up, but over time became known worldwide for what they provided.

This weekend in Pomona CA at the Fairplex, there is going to be one helluva 70th anniversary party! Cool cars, drag racing, Nitro Fueled fun and special events within the event and all those great IN-n -OUT burgers being served all day

Robert E Petersen (Pete) started Hot Rod Magazine. The war was over for a couple of years, the GI’s were home and times were good. Guys were building cool cars and “Pete” saw an opportunity and took a chance, and created a magazine that would become the “go to bible” for hot rodders world wide.

The team at Meltdown Drags released the following statement regarding the future of Meltdown Drags: It's the end of the Meltdown Drags as we know it. Back in 2010 the stars aligned and the Meltdown Drags was born from an idea conceived in Koop's basement 5 years previously. We just wanted a fun place to race our vintage cars; hence the term we coined "vintage drag meet". The Meltdown was the first event of its kind, with strict criteria. Our goal was simple, to get old race cars out of the sheds & barns, and back onto the racetrack for everyone to appreciate and create a real 60's style drag meet. That was it, oh and to have the most fun of our lives. The best thing that came out of it was the friends we made. As it grew, so did the amount of time and people it took to manage it. As you all know, this event has become more work than fun for the crew. As a result, we have decided to take a step back and not have the Meltdown Drags in 2019. We are not going away and we are not disbanding. We're just going to focus on building cars, racing them with many of you and having fun!

Every year at the end of October or early November, tens of thousands of car loving, hot rod fanatics and all types of gearheads, head to the desert and the city of lost wages, Las Vegas Nevada. The SEMA show is BIG to say the least. Having grown over these many years from it’s humble beginnings being held in Anaheim California, in the lower level of Anaheim stadium, to filling the Las Vegas Conventions Center and the Sands Convention Center too.

SEMA is open to the Auto Industry members and businesses. Even with out being open to the general public (never has) the aisles and buildings are full of people. Comfortable walking shoes are required if you are going to survive. 20

There is a lot of business being done for sure, but as Brian Hope of the Rat Trap Racing team recently said while talking about SEMA 2018, “ it’s really become more of a social event”. We agree. While businesses are there to move product, both current and new to the market items, they have to have a way to show off there wares. The way they do it is with the cars, truck and yes motorcycles on display at every turn. The vehicles on display are the true stars of the show., We could go on and on about the SEMA 2018 event, but we think the best way to show you what the show had in it, is to share the cars, trucks and motorcycles that were part of SEMA 2018. Our thanks to Michael Young of Street Rods by Michael out of Shelbyville TN for sharing the pic’s he grabbed while at SEMA, as we couldn't make the trip west this year. Enjoy the stars of SEMA 2018!
