“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….”

I am thankful for …... What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving Day….

I am thankful for all of our subscribers and readers. You make wait we do here at the Gearhead Gazzette worthwhile. You read each issue, follow us on Facebook or Instagram or both, along with checking things out on our website. We thank you for coming along for the ride. With the passing of my dad earlier this year, I am thankful for the time I got spend with him. My dad taught me a lot. Sometimes in a hands on environment such as doing mechanical work on a vehicle. My dad was a master mechanic by trade and profession. The learnings he shared and the mistakes I made that he baled me out on, are too numerous to list here. My dad also taught me many things by allowing me enough latitude growing up to do things, make mistakes and be able to learn from them. At times I didn't think he cared but it was the opposite, the learning is what he gave to me. Those learnings….PRICELESS.

First let me say, Thanksgiving 2018 has arrived way to fast for me. Heck we just got done celebrating the New Year and BAM summer is gone and it’s Turkey Time….again. Seems like this happens faster with each passing year...don't ya agree? I am thankful that I get to live in our great country. Despite all the political BS on TV and in the news, this country of ours, the good old US of A is the best place on the planet to call home. We get to live life our way and enjoy freedoms that most countries do not have or enjoy. I am thankful for all of our military members who are keeping us safe from harms way. They stand watch over our nation, putting their lives on the line everyday to make sure we stay free. I am also thankful for all the veterans who have served our great nation and have turned their watch over to our current military members.

Jimmy B.

“the fun starts here”….

Goodguys Hall of Fame Road Tour Video Series Goodguys is all about cool cars, cool people and good times! One of the most epic parts of our year each is the Goodguys Hall of Fame Tour. This year, we are bringing the Hall of Fame Tour to viewers worldwide!! There is nothing better than a road trip with some amazing hot rods. A special five-part Goodguys 2018 Hall of Fame Road Tour video series recapping our amazing 8-day journey throughout the Western United States. A new Road Tour episode will premier each Tuesday through December 4th The tour was the most spectacular Goodguys had ever staged, taking Hot Rods, Customs, Trucks and Pro-Touring Machines through ten US states and 2,700 scenic miles. From Yellowstone to Mt Rushmore to Subtropolis and finally Texas Motor Speedway, the tour was the most fun you could possibly have behind the wheel of your hot rod! We hope you have as much fun watching it as we did making it! Check al the episodes out at https://www.good-guys.com/hotnews/hall-of-fame-road-tour-videoseries/ California Wildfire Claims Vintage Car Collections The loss of life and property tops all concerns, as thousands of firefighters continue to battle both blazes, along with others sprinkled up and down the state in a hellish archipelago. Yet it's always a tragedy to see history destroyed. You've probably never heard of Gary Cerveny, a private collector in Southern California who amassed a fascinating stable over the years. But chances are you've heard of his thirty-odd cars, Including 1-of-1 1948 Norman Timbs Special, all of which reportedly burned in the Woolsey Fire over the weekend. The vehicles in Cerveny's Malibu garage ranged from a 1997 Dodge Viper to a 1950 Chrysler Woodie Wagon to a crop of postwar IndyCar racers and experimental drag cars. Please keep ALL the folks affected by these devastating fires in your prayers and thoughts.

Photography by Craig Wise—Story by Jimmy B

In the world of hot rods and cool cars, there are a few models that just stand out for one reason or another. One of those standout cars is the 1940 Ford. The ‘40 Ford coupe is legendary in the world of hot rods and stand out as a hot rod icon. Be it the Standard model or the extremely popular ‘40 Deluxe coupe. Not far behind is the ’40 Ford Sedan also. There are a number of car shows that celebrate and feature a particular car or model. One such show is the 40 Ford Day. 40 Forty Day is hosted by the Forties Limited of Orange County. 2018 was the 42nd Annual show being held in La Palma Park in Anaheim CA. The event celebrates all things and models of the 1940 Ford, coupe, sedan, fordor and trucks too. The Forties Limited also invite any pre-72 makes or models to be part of the event also. It is a format and formula that works! 2018 is also the 50th Anniversary of the Forties Limited Club also. Quite an achievement in its own right. Ace photographer Craig Wise spent the day at the 40 Ford Day capturing the cool cars and trucks celebrating the ‘40 Ford. Check out some of the cool rides on the next few pages! 14
