“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….” ATTENTION CRUISE NIGHT ORGANIZERS!! Well its here...the last weekend in October of 2016.
What it is you have done, is given a whole lot of us a whole lot of gearhead fun. If you are running it, you do not always get to just sit back, kick back and watch the cars roll in and out. Again for what you do for FREE THANK YOU on behalf of all us gearheads in the USA!
And you say “that is significant for what??” End of the month...yep. Halloween is here...yep. Don’t know about you but I wear my costume everyday..LOL! Daylight Savings time happens in one more week...yep.
I can tell you with no reservations, we are all looking forward to next years cruise fun with you.
The biggest thing that happens this time of year and this time of October, is that a lot of the cruise-in’s, cruisenights wrap up for the season across the USA. Not everyone has “cruise weather” all year long like California, Florida and other nice climates in the southern part of the country.
CRUISE-IN PRODUCERS/ORGANIZERS: Effective with next weeks issue, unless you have informed us differently, we are assuming your cruise is ending after this weekend. If you want us to keep running your listings, let us know ASAP so we do not pull your listing!! Also, send us the 2017 Cruise In Info as soon as you can...we are ready
To all of you who have hosted, produced, promoted and help run these fun events weekly, monthly or whatever frequency you do, THANK YOU for what you have done all year.
for 2017 cruise fun! 4

While the cab was being repaired, work continued on the tricked out truck’s fenders. The wheel wells were re-shaped and the hood’s top and sides were handformed, along with a new set of running boards. The bed was completely restyled with one-off side panels featuring modified ’40 Ford stake pockets, hand-formed bumper braces and a custom roll pan. The taillight stands were reshaped to resemble a pair pulled from a ’36 Ford car. Axalta Desert Tan paint helps lend an art deco essence.
Every year, at GOODGUYS Rod & Custom Assoc. shows across the USA, hot rodders enter their cool rides in the various judging area’s that are set up at the events. Four of the most popular awards that come out of the judging all year, are the Truck of the Year Late, Truck of the Year Early, Muscle Machine of the Year and Muscle Car of the Year. Winning one of these awards, says a lot about the vehicle, the builder and or owner of the winners.
A TCI frame lies underneath with their rear suspension out back and Heidts stainless A-arms and coilovers up front. Front disc brakes are 11-inch CPP items while the Ford 9-inch rearend retains its drums. Wheels are 17- and 18-inch wires from The Wheelsmith wrapped in Yokohama tires. Power is a Corvette CT4 350 with billet aluminum script valve covers from Speedway and a modified ’55 Buick oil bath air cleaner for a vintage appeal. This truck is fast!
Over the next four issues, we will feature the 4 “Of The Year” award winners from Goodguys So, without further ado…we present to you the 2016 “Truck of The YearEarly” Award winner.—Jimmy B

With the recent passing of Richard Zocchi, the Custom Car world has lost one of it’s most diehard builders. Richard Zocchi was a Northern California native who had been radically customizing all makes of cars since the age of sixteen. His gorgeous eye-catching creations have won countless prestigious awards at all the major West Coast car shows based on excellence in design, workmanship and paint. In the mid 70′s, when custom car creations were virtually at a standstill, Richard’s awesome “Cool 50” Mercury was one of the primary vehicles that inspired the resurgence of customizing 50′s cars that continues to this day! Richard continued to design and produce a stunning new cruiser every year. His cars have graced countless magazine covers and his passion for this “sport” remains stronger than ever after almost fifty years. Join with us in offering our sympathy to his family, friends and fans around the world.
