I am still baffled by how many of us gearheads don’t drive our cars and trucks, of if they do, they do not drive that far away from home. For me buzzing down the road in the coupe, windows down, engine humming along, there is nothing too much more fun than that. I get in the discussions and hear “ I don’t want to get in an accident” or “the weather isn't right for me to drive right now”, or “I don’t want to put a bunch of miles on my car or truck in case I want to sell it”. You have insurance if something happens, the vehicle wont melt if it were to rain and having miles on the odometer shows the car or truck is road ready with no issues. I say this because here in my part of the country one of the BEST events all year will take place this coming Saturday. The 30th Annual Fall Color Cruise hosted by the Midnight Rodders Car Club, will hit the road at 9am sharp. If you are anywhere near the Middle Tennessee area on Saturday Oct. 19th, do yourself a favor and pack a nice lunch and go join the cruise (Info elsewhere in this issue). AM General and Jeep Partner to Develop New Light Tactical Concept Vehicle AM General manufacturer of light tactical vehicles, has partnered with Jeep and introduced a new light tactical concept vehicle at the Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). The Jeep Gladiator Extreme Military-Grade Truck (XMT) by AM General is the first phase of a collaboration that reunites two companies whose histories trace back to World War II. In creating the Jeep Gladiator XMT, AM General leveraged the Gladiator's capabilities and customized the truck to meet global customers' needs for a light-weight military truck. "We are extremely excited to partner with FCA and introduce the Jeep Gladiator Extreme Military-Grade Truck at AUSA," said AM General President and CEO, Andy Hove. "This new venture gives us an opportunity to showcase our expertise in light tactical vehicles and help FCA maximize the Gladiator's global reach and potentially enter new military markets." With bright sunlight glinting off deeply waxed finishes and families enjoying beautiful vehicles and a trip down memory lane, the 2019 IDIDIT Car Show & Open House lived up to its sterling reputation as Michigan’s premier end-of-summer celebration of the hot-rodding lifestyle. The event welcomed 367 registered vehicles—and dozens more that didn’t register—to IDIDIT’s Tecumseh headquarters for a day of classic car appreciation that included facility tours, vendor displays, food trucks and a live DJ.
