“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….”

2020 the Year of MORE Fun! Ready or not...We have arrived in 2020 gearheads..

in a while to a few car folks, has grown into a full blown on-line magazine.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Gearheads! Here is my wish for each of you to have a healthy, happy and prosperous 2020. Good luck on any New Years Resolutions you made and are trying to keep even at this early stage of the new year...HA!

There were some different formats over the past 19 years, emails, flyers, newsletter and what you have in front of you new...full blown magazine. The format has changed as the technology has changed. We feel its all for the better as we can bring you more content weekly than we did monthly years ago.

I have only 2 New Years Resolutions...that is to have fun all year long. If I can, I hope to have more fun than I did in 2019, and that was a lot of fun for me. #2 is to drive the hot rod more than I did in 2019

We are looking forward to making some changes to make your reading easier, better and more fun. Remember it is all about having fun around here.

If you look at the front cover or contents page of this issue (right to the left of this page) you might notice that we are showing Volume 20 now. That’s right...the 20th year of the GEARHEAD GAZZETTE starts with this issue.

Hang around with us in 2020 gearheads, we will be having fun and you are invited to join in. Live It Fully Everyday

Jimmy B.

HOLLEY NAMED OFFICAL SPONSOR FOR 2020 NMRA FORD NATIONAL SERIES 2019 was a massive year for Blue Oval drag racing fans around the world, and much of its success was due in large part to the highly successful National Mustang Racing Association (NMRA) series of events. Last year’s NMRA schedule was jam-packed with a diverse lineup of world-class drag racing, streetcar shootouts, manufacturer’s midways, car shows, and guest appearances for fans of all ages. In December 2019, the NMRA announced that Holley Performance Products would be the title sponsor for the upcoming 2020 season. Cool Car Fun in Music City Article & Photography by Jimmy B

Nashville, aka Music City USA, being located in the Mid-South / Southeast region of the country, doesn't experience what some of you would call, cold & heavy snowfall winters. Yes it does get very cool and sometimes downright cold too in Nashville. Snow even pops into the forecast once in awhile, but generally, January is not a terrible time of year all thing considered..

Still it is winter, and gearheads have their cool rides tucked away for a little while. Projects are going together in garages and shops across the region during this “car downtime”. Sometimes though, the winter blah’s do set in after the holidays, and sometimes 18

you just have to take a break from the project work and go have some gearhead fun. For 28 years, the Nashville Auto Fest has provided that much needed relief from “cabin/garage fever” and project “overload”. The 28th Annual Nashville Auto Fest was part car show, part swap meet, partcar corral and lots of vendors all under the roof of the Tennessee State Fairgrounds buildings. Even though it was chilly out in the parking lot, once you got inside the buildings, it was nice and warm, especially so with all those cool cars and trucks on display. Check out some of the cool cars and trucks we captured at the 28th “Fest” and you will see why it’s a favorite of so many gearheads in the region. Make your plans now to be part of or go check out the 29th annual show in January 2020...it will help you cure that cabin/ garage fever you will be having about that time! 19
