That day comes for all of us, when the body says you cant do that anymore. It comes faster than we want in reality. Go have some BIG fun everyday starting right now...just like these guys are!

Maybe because of my getting my MEDICARE card recently (I EARNED this so called entitlement!)) and some deaths of people younger than me that I knew, this picture below struck the right note for me as they say. I touch on this as I see and talk to many people that are late middle – agers (like me). A high number of them, who in my opinion should be having fun on a regular basis, are just sitting around, watching re-runs and

Extreme Turbo System C8 Sets New World Record When General Motors announced the next generation of Corvette, we all knew it was going to be fast, but no one ever expected it to chop through records like a vintage jukebox. Whether it’s because the car is such a star right now or due to the capability of the new platform, the mid-engine car has ratcheted through horsepower, ETs, and quarter-mile trap speeds like never before. The fact that records are coming from many different sources proves the capability of the platform, rather than just one person who “figured it out”. This latest “greatest” is held by a customer of Extreme Turbo Systems. The turbos are obviously providing the power, and reportedly, a set of Raybestos clutch plates makes sure it all goes to the track. His C8 Corvette was endowed with record status unexpectedly during a C8 testing session when the car clocked off an amazing 9.05 at 159 mph. While that is definitely moving, it’s far from the goal. The ETS team is hoping to have the first C8 Corvette to dip into the 8s in the quarter-mile. Of course, when you’re already that quick, tenths of a second improvement don’t just fall off the tree (pun intended).

Dodge HEMI Challenge Celebrates 20th Anniversary The Dodge HEMI Challenge, also known as the “Big Go,” celebrated its 20th anniversary at the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) Dodge/SRT U.S. Nationals, at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis this weekend. The longest-running, continuous, specialty race in NHRA history features heads-up, wheel standing, side-by-side racing of vintage HEMI-powered 1968 Dodge Dart and Plymouth Barracuda “package cars” that have competed in the NHRA Super Stock (SS/AH) class for more than five decades. In celebration of the classic muscle cars that contributed to the Dodge and Mopar brands’ legendary reputation and success at the drag strip, Dodge/SRT NHRA U.S. Nationals Grand Marshal Herb “Mr. 4 Speed” McCandless served in the same role for the Dodge HEMI Challenge and led the field of qualified Darts and Barracudas down the Indianapolis track’s return road in a parade prior to Friday’s eliminations rounds aboard his own original 1968 Super Stock HEMI Dart. The Dodge HEMI Challenge saw a new winner crowned at Lucas Oil Raceway as Steve Comella drove his 1968 Plymouth Barracuda to his first victory in the event. Comella took home a uniquely crafted 42.6-lb. trophy, made from a 426 HEMI cylinder head. All 16 drivers who reached the elimination rounds received cash rewards, with Comella earning an extra $15,000 prize. Highlights of Comella’s performance through five elimination rounds included a 0.001 -second reaction time and a trio of 8.3-second runs, the last of which gave him low E.T. and top speed of the event. 7

Ford to Offer ‘Ice White Package’ for Mustang, Mach-E Ford has introduced the new Mustang Ice White Edition Appearance Package for both Mustang coupe and Mustang Mach-E. This marks the first time in 28 years Ford is offering a white-on-white Mustang and the first time ever for the coupe.

“Mustang has always had the power to attract attention on the road, but the new Mustang Ice White Edition could – just like the original ’93 Triple White Fox body feature Mustang – become one of the hot collectibles of future generations,” said Jim Owens, Mustang brand marketing manager. “We are proud to continue a longstanding Mustang tradition of continuously offering fresh, new styling options for customers to empower them to make their Mustang an extension of who they are.” The package is the first to be offered to both Mustang Mach-E and Mustang coupe customers. Ice White Edition Mustang Mach-E: The all-electric SUV will exclusively offer the new Mustang Ice White Edition Appearance Package on Mustang Mach-E Premium models.

Star White Metallic Tri-Coat paint includes unique Star White mirror caps and wheel lip moldings to ice-out the exterior. Front and center on the grille is an Oxford White pony badge, which also appears between the tri-bar taillamps. The package adds unique 19-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with Oxford White-painted pockets. Light Space Gray sets the cabin stage, appearing on the seats, center console and doorpanel armrests. A Bright Silver hex-patterned instrument panel plus an Oxford White pony badge on the steering wheel add chill to the interior environment. Ice White Edition Mustang Coupe: The package is reminiscent of the 1993 Triple White Fox body feature Mustang, of which Ford made just 1,500 Triple White Fox body feature Mustangs – all convertibles. Available on Mustang EcoBoost and GT Premium fastback models, the Mustang Ice White Edition comes lacquered exclusively in Oxford White and features unique iced-out taillamps, plus heritage-inspired 19×9-inch wheels in matching Oxford White with machine-surfaced pockets. Just like on the Ice White Edition Mustang Mach-E, the Ice White Mustang coupe comes with Oxford White pony badges and fender badging. The black and white interior features Oxford White leather seat inserts front and rear, plus Oxford White leather door panels. An aluminum appliqué on the dash and white accent stitching on the center console, door panels, shifter boot, headrests and more add to the cabin environment.

AAPEX, SEMA Show Reveal Health and Safety Measures for Upcoming Events AAPEX and the SEMA Show have released new information regarding health and safety measures for each event scheduled for later this year in Las Vegas, Nevada. The co-owners of AAPEX – the Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) – will require proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID PCR test administered prior to arrival in order to attend the 2021 event, show organizers announced. AAPEX officials are also evaluating the potential for onsite testing for those unable to be vaccinated or to obtain a negative PCR test prior to the show. These measures will be administered through a third-party verification platform and on-site screening, the organization said. Additionally, while subject to change, as of July 30, Nevada is requiring masks for all indoor events in Las Vegas. AAPEX will announce more details in the near future, officials said. AAPEX is scheduled for Nov. 2-4 at the Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum. The SEMA Show, however, did not announce any specific health guidelines, but noted that officials are still working with state and local health authorities to announce more in the coming weeks concerning safety measures that will be required in November. While subject to change, as of July 30, 2021, Nevada is requiring masks for all indoor events in Las Vegas. The SEMA Show is scheduled for Nov. 2-5 at the Las Vegas Convention Center “AAPEX and SEMA are 100% committed to ensuring a great Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas.
