Whether we like it or not, there is a finite amount of time for each of us. Some more than others, but we truly are not in control of it. We hang on for the ride. How you...we choose to use our time currency is up to us. As we, (me too) get older, we think more about how much time (currency) we have left. You can say you don’t, and maybe out loud you don’t, but deep down inside, we all do. Quit using the “ I’ll do it someday” or “it’s on my bucket list” as an excuse to yourself for not going out and having fun each day. YES we all still have “life” things we have to do like take care of the house, yard, etc. But cutting your grass a few days later because you went out of town to knock an item off your to do list is ok. The grass is not that important...is it. If you have a bucket list, EMPTY THE DAMN BUCKET!! No one but you can. It gets pretty heavy after a while...no? Go have some hot rod fun everyday gearheads, well maybe not everyday but multiple times a week for sure. Your TIME CURRNCY gets spent by only you...spend it wisely...

Say hello to Fall 2021 y’all! It will be October before too many days and the ol’ calendar clicks off another month. They seem to move at WARP SPEED anymore. What is the most important currency you have...we all have? Doesn’t matter what country you are in, as the most important one is the same in any country or language. TIME IS THE MOST IMPORTANT currency any of us has….TIME.

Right about now you may be thinking about the old saying, “time is money” and that is very true. We can all make money (currency) in many different ways. We work for it and get a paycheck, you sell something and get paid, you invest money you made in some form and you earn more money by the way of an interest payment to you. We all do it, did it or are trying to do it. The one currency we cant get anymore of is TIME.

Most Expensive 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Costs Over $110,000 Production of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray started earlier this month at the Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. But if you're planning to place an order you may want to act fast because demand is going to be high and some dealers have reportedly received very low allocations. Prepare for a first-come, first-served scenario once again. To help you decide which variant is right for you, Chevrolet has launched the updated online configurator for the 2022 Corvette Stingray, allowing you to browse all the available options and accessories. As before, the 2022 Vette is available in three different trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. For 2022, Chevrolet has added three new exterior color options: Hypersonic Gray Metallic, Amplify Orange Tintcoat, and Caffeine Metallic. Hypersonic Gray Metallic and Caffeine Metallic are available at no extra cost but the premium Amplify Orange Tintcoat finish costs an extra $995. Despite the added expense, we expect it will be a popular color option as Sebring Orange was the most popular color for the 2020 Corvette. Various stripes and decals are also available in different colors ranging from $500-$995. Like with most model updates, the 2022 Corvette Stingray has had a price increase. The base 1LT coupe starts at $62,195, up from $59,900, while the 2LT will set you back $69,495 and the 3LT costs $74,145. Some of the optional extras are more expensive for the 2022 Corvette Stingray, too. Originally priced at $4,995, the Z51 Performance package has crept up to $6,345. The E60 Front Lift option now costs $2,260, Black Trident wheels have increased to $2,995, and the High Wing is more expensive than last year, now priced at $1,250. 2023 Chevy Silverado HD Will Pack an Updated Duramax V8 with Over 500 HP and This Monstrous Torque Number Will the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD be the first to break the 500 horsepower barrier in their heavy-duty pickup trucks? Here is the latest. According to an insider report, GM is cooking up something very special for the next 2023 Silverado HD and 2023 Sierra HD pickup trucks. There are several camouflaged prototypes testing in and around Colorado and across the country, but we had no indication about what will power these new beasts. Now we have this unofficial report that offers a glimpse into the new turbo-diesel Duramax power from GM. This unofficial report says that the next generation of the 6.6-liter turbo-diesel Duramax V8 will be rated at 505 horsepower and 1,085 lb-ft of torque. Naturally, these figures may change by the time the 2023 Chevy and GMC heavy-duty trucks hit the market. These numbers seem very plausible because they would put GM’s big diesel V8 into a leadership position for the segment. Competition Here are the big diesel numbers for the 2022 model year from Ford and Ram. The latest 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel from Ford is rated at:

475 hp @ 2,600 rpm and 1,050 lb-ft of torque @ 1,600 rpm. The latest high-output 6.7-liter Cummins I6 diesel from Ram is rated at: 420 hp @ 2,800 rpm and 1,075 lb-ft of torque @ 1,800 rpm. Current Duramax V8 (L5P) The current L5P 6.6-liter Duramax V8 was introduced in the 2017 model year with a very respectable 445 hp @ 2,800 rpm and 910 lb-ft of torque @ 1,600 rpm. For the 2020 model year and the new generation of GM’s heavy-duty pickups – the company introduced the new 10-speed (10L1000) Allison-branded automatic transmission. The unofficial report also states that the automatic transmission and the rear differential are also getting an upgrade for 2023 to handle more power and torque. Let’s see how this turns out when the trucks become available.

Dave Schroeder and His C7 Corvette Win HOT ROD Drag Week 2021 Dave Schroeder is the overall winner of HOT ROD Drag Week 2021. With an average time of 6.793 at 198.08 mph over five days of racing in his brand-new 2019 Corvette, Schroeder can claim the rights of having the Fastest Street Car in America. In second place overall is Mikeal Borggren in his 1987 Volvo 240 wagon. He finished with a weeklong average of 7.259 at 192.44 mph, and Borggren capitalized on the hype surrounding the car all week by ripping an astonishing 6.93 at 203.34 mph in his last pass of the week. Third place overall goes to Jason Sack in his show-quality 1969 Nova. His average for the week was 7.33 at 185.082 mph. The top three competitors win a custom electric guitar from Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive, not to mention all the glory that comes from knowing they have the three fastest street cars in America! Last years rally saw over 50 vintage campers and was a great success and we are excited for this years event!! Thurs Sept 23rd is check in day. The day is open to setup and to explore the area (and we have a lot to see including Cumberland Falls, Big South Fork scenic Railway, Historic Mill Springs Grist Mill, Mill Springs Civil War Battlefield, Haney’s Appledale Farms, etc.) all within a 5 minute to 45 minute drive of the campground. Friday Sept 24th is when we have open house scheduled. It’s scheduled from 2:30 to 5:30. We will be promoting the open house to anyone in our community who may want to come see the campers. Saturday September 25th is the Somernites Cruise event in historic downtown Somerset (again about 10 minutes from the campground). Gates open at 12:00 (noon). RPM Nationals is a race that pays homage to the early days of drag racing. When race cars and street cars competed head to head to see whose garage built hop up was the fastest. The races then started with the drop of a flag and end 1/8 of a mile down the strip. We have 6 classes for race vehicles, 4 cylinder street, v8 street, 4 cylinder modified street, v8 modified street, 4 cylinder full race, and v8 full race. Standard street class requires cars to be licensed and be capable of being driven on public streets, modified street requires the same but allows for power adders such as blowers or overhead conversions, full race is the anything goes class, blowers, overhead conversions, and nitro. All cars in every class are required to appear as a 1955 or older build style (but with some modern safety features) no modern electronics are allowed in any class bringing back the days of real hands on tuning, not being able to read that plug correctly could cause you the race. All this takes place at the beautiful Santa Margarita Ranch, located between San Luis Obispo and Atascadero in central Ca. Along with the racing there’s a car show down by the track, food and drinks, vendor area, and a swap meet area that some amazing vintage parts show up at every year.
