Xylexpo returns to traditional May timeline
The 28th edition of Xylexpo, the biennial international exhibition of woodworking and furniture technology, is moving back to May –specifically from 21st-24th May.
Xylexpo has traditionally always been held in May, since its foundation. The pandemic emergency had forced the organisers to choose a different time slot in October, building a different scenario and new partnerships to help exhibitors and visitors go back to business in a successful event.
The challenge was successful, as Xylexpo 2022 was certainly the industry’s most successful event after the Covid storm.
“In harmony with all the most important industry players, we have accurately considered all the alternatives and the role of our exhibition

This process has led us to identify the time slot from the 21st to the 24th of May for Xylexpo 2024, for the first time from Tuesday to Friday, a better fit for the current requirements of exhibitors and visitors, especially our international audience,” said Luigi De Vito, president of the exhibition and www.xylexpo.com
Acimall, the association of Italian woodworking machinery manufacturers, which owns and organises the event.
“We are defining all the details of the new project, even more focused on multimedia, and we are working to bring all industry players to Milan, offering a one-of-a-kind dynamic event, with plenty of initiatives, that can achieve the best results in terms of culture, promotion and business”.
The exhibition will be held at FieramilanoRho in the east side halls, near the underground station and all the highway, railway and airport connections, to simplify the mobility of Italian and international operators who are expected to attend in high numbers.

Chippendale School’s 2023 graduate exhibition
World-renowned furniture school, The Chippendale International School of Furniture, is hosting its 38th annual Graduate Exhibition & Fine Furniture Sale in June 2023.
Taking place between Wednesday 14th and Saturday 17th of June, the event will showcase a range of fine furniture crafted by students graduating from this year’s Professional Course.
The nine-month Professional Course attracts aspiring furniture makers from across the globe and has gained international fame as a training ground for exceptional woodworkers. Providing students with the essential skills and knowledge to successfully establish and run their own furniture making business, the Professional Course covers everything from design techniques to marketing strategies.
On the 2022/23 course are 30 talented students from around the world, including India, Chile, Thailand, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Malta, the UK and Ireland. Among the exhibiting students is Eivind Haarr Smedal from Norway. His Danish cord woven rocking stool is as fun as it is aesthetically pleasing, which will be displayed alongside his slanting ash bench inspired by the rugged snowy landscapes of Northern Norway. Also on the course is Nick Davis from England. His cleverly designed curved benches, surrounding a coffee table are an example of how good design is often beautifully simple. He will also be exhibiting a striking blue veneered pantry cabinet and an arts and crafts inspired lounge chair.
