Artisans’ Corner Gallery Invites Patrons to Be Inspired and Create Submitted At the corner of Auburn Road and Kinsman Road, nestled in between Zeppe’s Tavern and Subway, is a charming place filled with handcrafted from the heart works of art, crafts and gifts. Artisans’ Corner Gallery, 11110 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township, now in its third year of operation, may seem unassuming from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. The gallery hosts 3,200 square feet of work created by local Ohio artists with a wide
variety of offerings for any need. Gallery manager Monica Glasscock has curated a diverse collection, displayed with care and attention to detail, a perfect place to spend the afternoon letting your eyes and soul fill with quality and beauty. “It’s like an art show every day with convenient parking and perfect weather,” Glasscock said. The gallery also hosts a myriad of workshops, events and a weekly salon each Tuesday for artists to collaborate, inspire, create and enjoy the company of others. Visitors are often intrigued, watching and learning about the creative process an artist executes to get to the finished work, no matter the medium. Lovingly referred to as the “Salon du Mardi,” the event is free and open to any area artist who wishes to join in and the group meets at noon and spends the afternoon enjoying the inspiring atmosphere. Some current events include March’s First Friday, an after-hours open house and artist reception, featuring work by local artists, artist talk and complimentary refreshments. This month, the gallery is proud to feature artist Robin Nall, of Garrettsville, who works in oil and mixed media, with vibrant color and style. Joining her is a truly creative fiber artist, Susan M. Lucas, of Solon. From dolls to wearable art, Susan is a wiz with a needle of any kind. The evening festivities kick off at 6 p.m., with the talk beginning at 7 p.m. Upcoming workshops include a threepart series on sketchbook creation taught by Mary Ann Sedivy, an afternoon session for creating Ukrainian eggs lead by Barbara Bloom (just in time for Easter), and a tutorial on making a personalized Mother’s Day gift with Cat McBrian using a simple tile and paint.
