So much has changed in the last 50 years. In 1970, a gallon of gas cost $0.36 and a loaf of bread cost $0.70. Monday Night Football debuted. Richard Nixon was the president and “American Top 40” with Casey Kasem was introduced.
One other notable event happened 50 years ago — Ki- netico was founded Dec. 1, 1970.
Kinetico Incorporated came into existence when its two founders, Bill Prior and Jim Kewley, were asked to design a better wa- ter softener valve. What they ultimately created was a business that would make the world a better place while protecting our most pre- cious resource – water.
In 1970, Kinetico pioneered the develop- ment of a non-electric, demand regenerated, fully-automatic water softener that eventually changed the water treatment industry.
From its inception in Northeast Ohio, Kinetico has grown from a two-man creative
undertaking into a dynamic organization that spans the globe.
Today, Kinetico offers a wide range of state-of-the-art water treatment products that can solve the most complex water issues for residential and commercial customers.
Join Kinetico in celebrating this momen- tous event and golden anni- versary. Throughout 2020, the Newbury location will be discounting all of its most trusted and effective water treatment solutions. This year, Kinetico also unveiled its newest and most unique creation yet, the Kinetico App.
Northeast Ohio residents are fortunate to have one of the nation’s premier wa- ter-treatment innovators headquartered in Geauga County. Problem water, hard water and smelly, bad tasting water is no match for Kinetico.

Artisans’ Corner Gallery, 11110 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township, now in its third year of operation, may seem unassuming from the outside, but don’t let that fool you.
The gallery hosts 3,200 square feet of work created by local Ohio artists with a wide
variety of offerings for any need.
Gallery manager Monica Glasscock has curated a diverse collection, displayed with care and attention to detail, a perfect place to spend the afternoon letting your eyes and soul fill with quality and beauty.
“It’s like an art show every day with con- venient parking and perfect weather,” Glass- cock said.
The gallery also hosts a myriad of workshops, events and a weekly salon each Tuesday for artists to collaborate, inspire, create and enjoy the company of others. Visitors are often intrigued, watching and learning about the creative process an artist executes to get to the finished work, no matter the medium. Lovingly referred to as the “Salon du Mardi,” the event is free and open to any area artist who wishes to join in and the group meets at noon and spends the afternoon enjoying the inspiring atmosphere.
Some current events include March’s First Friday, an after-hours open house and artist reception, featuring work by local artists, artist talk and complimentary refreshments.
This month, the gallery is proud to fea- ture artist Robin Nall, of Garrettsville, who works in oil and mixed media, with vibrant color and style. Joining her is a truly creative fiber artist, Susan M. Lucas, of Solon. From dolls to wearable art, Susan is a wiz with a needle of any kind. The evening festivities kick off at 6 p.m., with the talk beginning at 7 p.m.
