This is Raccoon. Raccoon is bored.

An exciting book or some exercise often helps.

If those don’t work, or if he feels gloom descending too, it’s time to bake an apple cake. That’s exactly what Raccoon plans to do. But he’s out of eggs.

“I’ll just pop over to Fox’s house,” thinks Raccoon. “Fox always has eggs because she has chickens.”

Fox is hard at work. “What are you doing?” asks Raccoon. “The rain’s coming in here,” says Fox. “I have to repair the roof, but I can’t quite reach it.” “Let’s go to Badger’s,” says Raccoon. “He has everything— he’s bound to have a ladder.”

The two friends set off for Badger’s house. “Perfect!” thinks Raccoon. “A walk with Fox.”

Badger is deep in thought. He’s racking his brains over a crossword puzzle. “Honey insect, three letters. What could that be?” he asks. “When it comes to honey, you need to ask Bear,” says Fox. “Come on, let’s go to Bear’s.”

Raccoon is bored so decides to bake an apple cake. He has no eggs so visits his friend Fox. She‘s mending the roof but needs a ladder. Badger will have one! Off they go. “Perfect!” thinks Raccoon. “A walk with Fox.” A walk with Fox leads to a picnic with Badger leads to a climbing expedition with Crow leads to ...  the best day out—a perfect, wonderful day!
