WELCOME Welcome to the Winter edition of the Love Central Geelong Fun Guide! This is your guide to all the best activities happening for the Winter School Holidays in Central Geelong – Saturday 25 June to Sunday 10 July 2022. The program is a collection of activities, events and exhibitions for children 3-16 years, delivered by Central Geelong businesses and the City of Greater Geelong. All activities will follow the Victorian State Government’s COVID Safe directions. Participants are reminded to follow the latest Victorian health advice regarding mask wearing, maintaining physical distancing, hygiene practices, staying at home if unwell and being COVID-19 aware. So, what are you waiting for? Start planning your school holidays!

GINGERBREAD COOKIE DECORATING WORKSHOP BY FINNSKA PIPARI Learn how to decorate seven different delicious gingerbread cookies using royal icing techniques in this fun and hands-on class for budding beginners. With 10 years of cookie decorating experience in Finland, Minna will guide you through fundamentals of royal icing, how to use basic tools to outline, fill, work wet-on-wet and other techniques. WHERE DOES OUR FOOD COME FROM? With Farmer Fred (Broccoli Head) Do beans come from a tin? Do cheese burgers grow on trees? We are about to find out with farmer “Fred” as he takes you on a trip into the paddock to discover where our food actually comes from. Meet some different farm animals and discover what function they have. With plenty of comedy and interactive games this show is designed to link the journey from paddock to plate and demonstrate ways we can grow our own food at home. After the show participants are encouraged to start their own journey by growing seeds that produce food.

SMALL WORLD - WINDOW DISPLAY Little foodies will love a cleverly created ‘Small World’ window display at the Love Central Geelong Hub in Little Malop Central. Check out two different scenes made from recycled cereal boxes and food packaging showcasing where our food comes from. This wonderful window display is created by the extraordinary Nikolas Ridiculous!
