Tastes of Greater Geelong 2024

Page 1

21 JUNE – 14 JULY 2024

The best of the Greater Geelong region in food, drink and hospitality.

We Acknowledge the Wadawurrung People as the Traditional Owners of the Land, Waterways and Skies. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging. We Acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are part of our Greater Geelong community today.

WELCOME TO TASTES OF GREATER GEELONG 2024

The Greater Geelong region is celebrated as one of Australia’s premier destinations for food, wine, and hospitality. Now in its 13th year, Tastes of Greater Geelong highlights all that the region has to offer, from delectable indigenous flavours and locally inspired menus, to wine and dine events and gourmet taste trails.

The 2024 program invites locals to explore and savour the unique flavours of Geelong, while also welcoming visitors to discover our region’s culinary delights.

The food festival spans three weeks of flavourful events including special menus, unique outdoor experiences, interactive activities, talks and masterclasses for all ages.

Highlights include a community ‘Winter Warm Up’ solstice celebration with snow fall, live music, fairy lights and more, Tasting Trails to explore hidden gems and Geelong’s signature dishes, a High Tea at The Davidson featuring indigenous flavours, a gourmet Portarlington Mussel Tour and an exclusive farm-to-table experience with Masterchef alumni, plant-based cook and sustainability advocate Simon Toohey.

Our UNESCO City of Design designation also features in the program as we celebrate – on World Refrigeration Day – 170 years since James Harrison’s worldchanging invention of commercial refrigeration in Geelong and delight in a culinary conversation at The Arborist featuring a hospitality architecture talk and special menu.

Tastes of Greater Geelong is about indulging your senses, so I encourage you to support our local hospitality sector and enjoy our excellent wine and dining attractions.

Enjoy the festival!
