Meet the authors and hear about their books and the creative writing process in Author Encounters. Once again, there is a fabulous line up of writers including award-winning author Chris Womersley, talking about his latest release, Cairo. In October we Celebrate Seniors with an extensive calendar of events and activities especially for our region’s senior community members. From heritage walks to folk music, iPads to story-telling, there is something for everyone in this thoughtful program of activities which are aimed at helping our seniors to celebrate. As always we have something for younger people including a boredom-busting line up of school Holiday Fun for children and youth. If you have younger children, don’t forget to join us for our regular baby time, toddler and pre-school sessions which use story-telling, rhymes and song to encourage a lifelong love of reading and books. Gordon looks at how much the international community has to learn if it is to help rather than hinder the process.
