WHAT S ON AT THE
LIBRARY SPRING 2015
ALICE CAMPION IS 5 PEOPLE! PETER DOHERTY – NOBEL PRIZE WINNER CHRIS BOWEN – THE MONEY MEN
WELCOME TO OUR LIBRARIES Spring sees the return of the Word for Word National Non-fiction Festival. Join us, along with our partners Deakin University and City of Greater Geelong, to enjoy a showcase of non-fiction literature, writing and ideas. The festival opens this year on Thursday 10 September with a keynote address from Professor Tim Flannery and continues 11–13 September for three days of workshops, panel discussions and ‘in conversation’ sessions. Our season’s special events feature Nobel Prize winner Peter Doherty, encouraging us to take an evidence-based view of the climate debate, Tony Park, indulging us with the African inspiration behind his bestsellers and Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen sharing his insider’s view of managing the nation’s economy through his book The Money Men. The new Geelong Library and Heritage Centre will open soon. Stay informed about the celebrations and events that will mark this historic occasion. Subscribe to our monthly eNewsletter by visiting our website www.grlc.vic.gov.au and following the eNewsletter link. See you soon at the library!
