JULY – NOVEMBER 2011

“ W elco m e Welcome to the Geelong Regional Libraries Corporation Calendar of Events for July to November 2011. Inside you will find information about a variety of activities to suit all ages, interests and needs. Public libraries play a vital role in our region enabling all members of the community to engage in lifelong learning and leisure activities. They do this through their committed staff, the provision of print and multimedia collections, online databases and e-books, access to the latest technologies and through a range of programs and events. We place special emphasis on the development of reading literacy and with this in mind, provide a huge range of children’s and youth events. Information technology and technology literacy is the focus of many in our region and our programs are designed to play our role in this. The calendar also details some exciting opportunities to attend author talks, participate in discussions about books and poetry and attend Melbourne Writers Festival events here in Geelong. We hope to see you in our libraries regularly. There is something for everyone. Cr Rod Macdonald Chair
