“Indian Attack The woman listened carefully. The sound had come from oustside the chimney of their log cabin. Her trapper husband had earlier in the day noticed the sign of an indian war party. He had gone to explore the nearby forest when he had seen the painted feathers and the worn trail. They were both now tense and frightened. This time they heard the mufffled sound of a voice, and then a low whistle and they now knew they were surrounded and could be attacked at any time. The red indians with weight of numbers forced the solid oak door and had just entered the hut when the mountain men arrived to rescue the besieged pair. entered
