^ There exists three types of rooms: VVIP room(200sqm), VIP room(150sqm), and Standard room(125sqm). VVIP and VIP rooms have best open views and large SPA space inside. Triangle elements frequently occures in these two types, creating special geometric view. < This section illuminates that the triangle structure slices inside space into two part, a strangle one and a square one. The square one is convient to be used and thus it will be decorated for Spa room. 10

^ The study of masterplan design is a process of understanding both function and site situation. Every year, a violent, cold, northeasterly winter wind strongly affects Karamay for almost half a year. Thus, infectious diseases building and emergence are displayed in the northwest part(step 4.), which are apart from other buildings. Due to Karamay's high latitude, inpatient building chould only be arranged in north part.

This reconstruction tries to dismiss some local construction methods such as the mud walls which are replaced by bricks. In another aspect, we try to keep the traditional indigenous life-style, and hence we maintain two courtyards and timberstructure. As for the timber-structure, it is developed and complexed to produce more spaces than before.

Reborn of The House From the statue of the house A, we can find out that there exists about three problems in this building: 1.lack of daylighting, 2.damp environment, 3.lack of private spaces.
1
But I do not want to change the local people's dailylife style to fix those problems. Therefore, I try to keep the old relationship of the space and the old height available, and add an inner garden to make the daily life more interesting. To sovle the poor daylighting, I transform the mud-walls to the brickwalls with many windows. Refer to the second and third question , I set all the bedrooms, the private spaces, concentrated in the second countyard. The inner garden and the living room are the centre of this house as the main public space, they also connect two countyards. The construction method of timberframe stems from some indigenous dwellings in south China.

^ Zoucheng hopital, an unfinished construction project, has been built for four years in the rural area of Zoucheng city, filled with farmland. Its structure of emergency part, D&T part, and outpatient part has been finished without glass curtain wall. In this project, we focus on how to resolve inside circulation problem and the possibility of future development. Firstly, considering winter-wide effectivity, we add infectious
building and rubbish recycle center at the northwest area, which were not planned in former design. Secondly, a professor residential building will occupy the northeast of the site. At last, we have tried to find a possible method to expand future OP and D&T area to match the medical needs.

How to Read Chinese Paintings 9.2014 ~ 10.2015 Project Location: Beijing Project Type: Book Layout Design The Chinese often use the expression du hua, “to read a painting,” in connection with their study and appreciation of such works. This volume closely “reads” thirty-six masterpieces of Chinese painting from the encyclopedic collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in order to reveal the major characteristics and themes of this rich pictorial tradition. The book examines multiple layers of meaning—style, technique, symbolism, past traditions, and the artist’s personal circumstances—through accessible texts and numerous large color details. A dynastic chronology, map, and list of further readings supplement the text. PKU publisher invited me to design the Chinese version in Sep, 2014.

Mountains and seas hidden in landscape has stated the formation of PKU's campus today. There once existed some famous classic gardens in the Ming and Qing dynasty such as Shaoyuan, Shihuyuan, and Mingheyuan. After the Qing dynasty perished, this area was abandoned. In 1916, Stuart chose here to build Yanching University's campus, which later became a part of Peking University in 1952. The buildings of Chinese traditional official style in this campus have perfectly fused together with the beautiful landscape of Chinese classic garden. It is a co-authored book and there are five charpters in it. My work is to write the fourth charpter about the relics in campus, many of which once belonged to Yuanmingyuan Park.
