The Brazil Country Portfolio Evaluation (CPE) is one of six country-level evaluations that examine Global Environment Facility (GEF) support in the Latin America and the Caribbean region. Brazil was selected primarily on the basis of its having one of the comparatively largest portfolios of the GEF worldwide. This diverse and mature portfolio
covers all the GEF focal areas with a pronounced focus on biodiversity. With a considerable number of completed projects, the Brazil portfolio is one of the most mature among GEF member countries.
