Gem re-brands Trilogy as Gem Logistics and commits significant investment to developing and growing the business

Following the acquisition of Trilogy’s assets in December 2009, Gem have announced the re-branding of the company as Gem Logistics. The announcement comes as Gem moves to create a southern based logistics operation providing best in class distribution solutions for DVD, music and video game publishers and is the first step in a development plan that will see the Northampton based business significantly increase both its scale and service offering. As far as predications go we see cloud computing as the computing platform, such as the Amazon data center model, will be the next generation of the Internet. Computing will become like a utility, similar to how we use electricity today. We will pay for what we use; the PC will become the visualisation tool we look into for applications in the cloud. More cloud computing platforms will become available as we capitalise on this economical, scalable model. While all of this may seem daunting, the good news is, the security industry has never been stronger: The level of innovation, the raised awareness, the healthy competition among vendors — together make for an optimistic outlook. Meanwhile, an all-new game mechanic allows players to assign roles to members of their party during battles, shifting between "combat paradigms." Six roles are available and range from Commando to Saboteur and Medic, allowing players to quickly adapt as the battle unfolds.

The typically rich, intertwining plot centres around the simmering tension between the two worlds, following on from a war that raged some 1300 years ago. Back then, Cocoon prevailed, but ever since, the populace have lived in fear of another lowerworld invasion. Indeed, the paranoia over the danger of the lowerworld ensures that mankind lives in an oppressive regime, where anyone who comes into contact with Pulse is quarantined by the Sanctum government's PSICOM military muscle. The tale picks up with the lead character, Lightning, fighting back against this oppression on board a monorail train. The tone is set for another ambitious combat-laced adventure, and in a flurry of high kicks, bullets and slow-motion gun-fu.

To add an extra layer of glamour to this blockbuster release, Final Fantasy XIII features a track performed by multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Leona Lewis. Awareness is being driven via both online and specialists retailers in the first instance, I feel that it is vitally important to attract the Flight Sim community to the merits of the range and therefore a lot of time and effort is being put into working with the FS Community to raise awareness both prior to and after the release of the first 5 products on March 26th. Another 4 sets of 5 titles will follow throughout the year, so we will continue to work with the core audience, specialists and online retailers throughout the year with the hope of developing the brand to the point where we can take the message to a wider audience. We are of course open to opportunities from the wider retail sector, so if there are any budding PC Pilots out there reading this, get in touch and I’m sure we can work together.
