WORDS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF NON-VIOLENCE
3rd A ESO STUDENTS
MS We deserve a free World, a world that we can live together, without injustices and discriminations. All the people have the same human rights. The world isn’t only from white people, the world is for everybody, the world is a beautiful present that one day is going to end and we have to care and respect. Also we have to respect the different breeds, the different cultures and opinions. If we respect, the world can be different, can be better. Be a person, a good person and you will have a good live. We deserve one respect, one house, one family, food and education. One day this dream will become true, and the injustice will disappear. But we have to collaborate, be one big family. And this family is called world. My wish is that the violence will disappear in a better future. And I’m pretty sure that we can solve it.
XF When Martin Luther King did the most famous speech about his dream, now, I would do my speech about my dream, and my dream is to achieve the non-violence around the world. But this dream is not only mine, this dream is our dream, and it isn’t impossible. One day, one great man said that if we can dream it, we can do it and that’s the way it should be. But in this wonderful world there is a little part of people that only says against the violence but they inadvertently commit violence in little things, for example insulting a person, or more… We have to say NO to those things! We can put our hands together and help each other. THIS IS OUR DREAM AND OUR FUTURE. And I hope, that this dream will become real.
MP We all want to live in a world with peace, a world without wars and where the people don’t separate each other by how they look like. Nowadays, the violence is everywhere, we just need to watch the TV news for seeing it: wars, gender violence… And that’s not good, but the problem is that is not only the extremes cases like wars, for example, there is a lot of racism everywhere. Why? We should not care if a person comes from Africa, from America or from Asia, we should care about what they do, not by the colour of the skin or by the eye’s colour, the way that a person thinks is the most important. And even there is a lot of violence from people of the same country with the same colour of the skin, because we are all violent, we don’t realize when we do it, but if someone say something that we don’t like or if a person annoys us we react in a violent way. We should try not to react like that because the violence is something that spreads easy and then it becomes a chain of violence.
PT  Well, in my point of view, the violence is the worst thing that someone can do in front of a problem. I also think that the violence is a compulsive action. I mean that nobody likes it and everybody uses it without thinking. A lot of people use the violence for solving some problems, and people who do it aren’t right, because their consequences are worse than the problem that they would have without using the violence. If you are a non-violence person, everybody will want to stay with you, because nonviolence is a quality that just the nice people have it. But if you are a violent person nobody will want to stay with you, in order not to have problems, because the violent thing that people can do for winning them. In my opinion we have to fight together to stop the violence.
JP Why non-violence? This question it’s very easy, because if there’s no violence, all conflicts and problems will not affect throughout the entire world attacks, small wars and also there would not probably be several crises. My opinion is that it doesn’t matter all the different cultures in the world, because you have to respect the people around you, because one day, they will probably help you when you're in a serious situation. Also I can say it that doesn’t matter the colour of your skin, you can have a black friend if you are white or have a white friend if you are black, for example, although they have the same culture or they have the same skin like you or both or not. The important thing is that your friend or partner is a good and sympathetic person and he helps you when you need him, and this type of persons are the best friends you can have, but also you have to do the same for them. Well, all these wars that have been made throughout humanity are done because two or more countries wanted to have the authority and master the rest of the continent/s or the entire world. Also there is a lot of violence because everybody wants to have a lot of money and be rich, and this has triggered all these wars, these tragedies for a lot of families that have lost a son, mother, or uncle; it’s a very sad and unfortunate events. I think that wars are ugly, when you debate them and discuss about them. A lot of people want to fight to achieve the rights of children and adult people, for example thousands of Jews died because Hitler wanted to do it. At the moment we have to be, more or less, happy because most of the world countries aren’t under dictatorship. And the last thing that I want to say is that the most important presidents and politicians would have to solve the rest of important problems that exist nowadays around the world, the violence is done because of lots of reasons, like culture, thoughts, economical situation, skin colour… And this does that that people is jealous, or want to be the “world boss” and destroy the other countries to feel more powerful. Finally, I would like to say that if you are a person that you think “everybody in their country”, don’t say to a black man, Muslim, or other type of people around the world “go to your country”, because, with this simple sentence, you can trigger a traumatizing war, trust me.
ET: I disagree with the violence. I also think that the violence is a compulsive action. The violence isn’t the way for solving the problems. We can solve them speaking and finding solutions without violence. We have to respect the different opinions, cultures, and respect the other people.
MM: I have a target that it’s to eradicate gender violence. During all my childhood I saw how my mother was crying because of my father was hitting her, so I called police to help my mother during this period, that’s why I’m here. To help to all that people that it’s being abused nowadays and to courage to phone to abuse telephone number, to eradicate abusing to have a better life without it, so you must take telephone and call emergency number to attention to the abusing to ask help. Nobody in this world is perfect, if all possible help will all this dream, I have fought hard for equality of people and I achieved something. We are treated equally. One can't do it but all together we can.
IL: I HAVE A DREAM Today, I have a dream which is the future of this generation. I think the violence is a big mistake, because the war only has disaster. All the people who participate in it lose things: the life, the money, the country, the parents,… When the world doesn’t have violence it is good because you are relaxed. You aren’t busy looking for the bombs or other guns. If the words don’ t work you have other solutions. But the violence is the worst option because you lose a lot of things. The money is a very important thing and we are in “crisis”. For this we don’t spend the money in guns. We spend the money in food. For this problem I think that we have to do something because persons lose the life. And this is a very serious problem.
AD: THE WORLD IS IN OUR HANDS Good afternoon, I would like to thank everyone who is present here today . I'm here to talk about a subject rather difficult to explain because of its significance. It is violence: how to deal with it , how to stop it . And everyone has rights, such as life , personal integrity , equality or freedom , when there is a war . These rights are usually broken. And that must be avoided. When two countries are declaring a war, millions of people are seen clearly affected both military and civilians, both men and women as children and grandparents. Politicians and heads of state would think twice before declaring war to another country, because a decision of this type can cause millions of deaths . The time also plays strongly in favor of peace, because if you have a lot of time, you can talk with your enemy and you can negotiate more and better. Dialogue is a good way to achieve peace, as more you bargain, you can talk more. We have to take into account that the variety of languages of the world hinders understanding. Also it is good to know the cultures to understand different points of view that a person can have. And also you have to have empathy, which is the ability to put themselves in the body of others. A war could be avoided if several heads of state talk more before acting. In everyday life you can observe many examples of conflicts and I'm sure that most of them can be avoided if one speaks. Many of these conflicts end in violence, but if we talk about it ? And if we agree? The world is in our hands and we can only improve it or worsen it, it’s in our hands!!!
AA: SPEAKING IS BETTER THAN FIGHTING Good afternoon , my name is Arnau Aurín Cases and today I stay here in Lleida to speak about the no-violence. The people today in a lot of cases when they have a problem they use the violence and this is a bad idea because is better to solve the problems speaking. All the people have rights and one of this rights is don´t use the violence , if you don´t won´t the violence you don´t practice the violence. One solution of no-violence is the relationship between two cultures because if you have a good relationship you make the violence smaller My idea is this: “IS BETTER THINKING THAN USE THE VIOLENCE I have a dream that one day people won´t use the violence Thank you for listening me and bye.
HP: A BETTER WORLD Today we are in a period where everything is easier than before, where now everything is solved by simply applying the laws and respect them, but, before, how did they solve it? Although in this unstructured country that we live we apply the law, not all people respect it, but they tends to use violence. It is a way of doing things but in a wrong way, I am a single 14 year old girl, but I am conscious of what is happening around me every day, as serious as mild. This word (violence) we can refer to murder, but demonstrations violently, berths, armed robbery, theft, vandalism and other things, but not only these things, also with words. We have to try to put end to all this, because it is not fair for those who want peace, justice, no differences and a world where the word "violence" doesn’t exist. Is it difficult? Yes, but everyone should try to put his/her part. In this world there are more important people that try to change this, but do not get it.In my opinion, we have to apply the word: no-violence, and from this word, everything will start to change. I remember a person, that these last past few days, I found it made senses to various things. It was Martin Luther King, he said:” I HAVE A DREAM...”
LO: I imagine a better world I imagine a better world without violence, without arms, without discrimination, without bombs, can you imagine it? I imagine a better world that the people that live there, help the others and respect the person that has next to them. I imagine a better world where the citizens aren’t hungry and don’t die because they can not eat anything. This better world that I imagine, is it possible if everybody has the same vision, do you agree? Nowadays, all over the world a lot of people die due to wars and this is not the better world that I imagine, please leave the world be better, can you help us?
AD: IDEAS TO STOP VIOLENCE Ladies and Gentleman’s I’ll tell you some things that can be done in favour of non-violence: -First of all, respect your family and big people. -Second of all, respect among classmates or work. -Third thing is the respect of skin colour -Respect the people who think differently than you. -Respect people for the simple fact that they are people. -Respect yourself. Those things are the most important things to do to have a better society and that are not present today. Why do we prefer to be selfish? Some people realize that there are many people that their future is not to be a chemist and I do not think that people receive with open arms as the way you think. And we have to believe that some people outside of our country are very different. One case is in Germany for example, the people are very closed. And here you begin to create a new better society
MB SAY NO TO VIOLENCE! Good morning ladies and gentlemen, Today’s speech is not going to be an ordinary speech. It is going to be my personal opinion about the importance of words in front of violence. I’ve always thought that the best way to discuss something is by using words, and I still think it. Because of the words we can explain better our problems so we can solve it sooner than if we just fight. Violence is not the good way to solve a problem, it is more than this. I really consider it is the worst way. Violence doesn’t produce anything than more violence. Do you remember what people used to say? Violence begets violence. This phrase has been used for over 50 years, and it is true. You won’t solve anything if you fight every time you have an obstacle, even if it is small or big. In today’s society is very important knowing how to use the correct words if you have any problem. You won’t be respected by the people if you don’t know or if you do not even try, all you will get will be fear from other people. This will make you be alone and feel sad. The words are not just the best way to solve your problems, the good use of the words will probably improve your life. It will be easier if you know how to express yourself. Then you will be a sociable person, you will have many more friends than if you were violent, and no problems will stop you because you will know how to fix them. Just remember: words are always better than violence, no matter what people say or what it can seem.
MC: The questions of the violence: Women, men and children, all the people who are listening for a reason, why are we here? We are here because we want to expire all the violence. When two countries are in war, when a husband hits his wife, when a father hits his sons, when somebody kills a person, when a person abuses of an animal, when there is bullying in a school… There are a lot of types of violence and all the violence is created by the humans and the only way of expiring the violence is when the human become more modest, charitable, honest… Why do all these people do violence? I don’t know but the only way to stop them is helping them, because with the love you stop avarice, with the charity we stop the selfishness, with peace we stop the violence… All these things are cruel things that happen in our world, but you can see that there are better things than cruel or worse things, and why don’t we stop the worse things all together? We want the non-violence because when there is a war a child have to become a child soldier, or when a child sees things that the children don’t have to see. We want the safety for all the people in the world, we want that a father loves his family and doesn’t hit the family or a mother has to love her family. All the people want good conditions of live and this is a right for everybody. It doesn’t matter the color of your skin, your religion, your thoughts or dreams, your way to get dressed… you’re a person and you have to be respected for all the people but you have to respect all the people. If you don`t want violence don’t contribute to create more violence.
BC: “FIGHT” Just so glad to have the opportunity to open your eyes. Open your eyes, even if you’re white, black, Spanish, American, short, tall, fat, thin, women or men, just trying to open the eyes of anyone that is spending his time on me, on listening to my opinion, to learn, to see further than the violence, to find new solutions. Fight, not to resort to violence as the solution to all our problems. Fight, change the people that want to destroy for people that want to create. Change the weapons for words, change the stared for smiles, change the bad thinkings for sensitive and sensible persons... Fight, to go all together not all against all. Fight, to create a unique world with all the cultures, languages, religions, differences, thoughts and make it a place where everyone listens and tries to understand the partner. I believe that a world with no violence can be true.
AL: If you watch the television every day, if you listen the radio every morning, if you read the newspaper every day, you could see that there is lot of violence in this world. A lot of people in this planet must work 15h a day. If they don’t do it, they can die. I believe that one day all of the people will work less hours without violence. Also, in a lot of countries, men are more considered than women. In those countries, they hit women if they don’t do what a man says. I believe that one day all of the women who live in this world will not be controlled by a man. I believe in a lot of things, but the most important thing that I believe is in one of my dreams. I have a dream that one day the violence will end in this world.
JR: PEACE ON THE WORLD Â In my opinion violence is the worst thing in the world, because it makes deaths and also it separates countries or cities or maybe capitals. I think that we have to reflect and think the good things of the violence that are few and the bad things that are a lot and then you will now if violence is good or not. For example nowadays in Iraq or Egypt the war is affecting a lot of people and also a lot of young kids that are having traumas of the war. the war is taking a lot of deaths, this is one thing we have to improve to change the world and then it will be a better world. Â
AV: OPEN YOUR EYES, OPEN YOUR HEART, OPEN YOUR MIND. When I was young I had a dream, where we lived in a world without violence, equality between countries, ... The next day I signed in a notebook all the things that I wanted to make our world a lot better. I spent a lot of time finding solutions for this world. I often listen to the speeches of many people who fought for this world: for example, Nelson Mandela (freedom of blacks, ..). Now I am here to tell you that you have to open your eyes, open to see that nobody is perfect in this world, we discriminate being black, white, blue, yellow, ... to be high or low, being thin or fat, but the truth…no one is the most suitable to talk because we are not perfect. I ask you to open your eyes, to help the people who need one. I ask that you usually do this as a very important reference for me and black people: Nelson Mandela. If all collaborate, achieve equality between countries, we would eradicate violence. We can!!!
MC: Going to Burma, Algeria… there are only wars in poor countries because they haven’t money. All rich countries have to help the poor countries to avoid wars and conflicts. People will live in peace and harmony if countries help others countries. Because of many children die. Because they go to wars, destroyed many countries… I have a dream today, that all the countries live in peace and harmony and that rich people help the need people. I have a dream today, but this dream can only be accomplished if the people respect the others countries.
CC: THE NONVIOLENCE Nonviolence is much more than a practice, tactics, strategy, ways. Nonviolence is a political ideology that is not to resort the violence, either as a means of protest or response to the same violence. It is an alternative option that seeks to "humanize" humanity, that is, a belief in the power of life. Some people do not use violence, either because it is physically or mentally difficult or impossible, or because their religious, moral or ethical beliefs prevent it, but nonviolence is more than not being violent, is looking for alternatives to reduce suffering and injury among living beings. Examples: generate violence, school, etc. I think you should all help to make a good environment in the school. As everyone should avoid these kind of problems. Violence is not good for anyone. This can avoid giving talks and making young people the idea begin. Â Â
MM: Good afternoon men and women, thank you for staying here. In this speech I will talk about the not violence and the humans fees. I think that this theme is very interesting in the world. I think that the violence is a bad thing, and the violence doesn’t take you in any place. If you speak without using violence you can get more things. If I was a powerful person in the world I try to eliminate the violence. I think that is very important respect human rights, because if you don’t respect the human rights, the people don´t respect you, or don´t have liberty, and the people have to have liberty. In the world are a lot of humans rights, and the international amnesty takes care that these rights are accomplished. It is very importan that you understend this thing, because if you respect the violence and the human rights you will be a good person. Thank you for listening me. Bye bye
