Welcome to our Inaugural

Montana Made Female Sale and Open House! We are happy to be working with Smart Auctions to bring you this sale in a convenient, mobile, reliable and secure online bidding setting. You will be able to view, select, bid, buy and pay for animals in our sale from the convenience of your smartphone, tablet or PC. Though we are working with Smart Auctions to help make our sale convenient for you, we are inviting you to come to the ranch on Saturday, September 22nd, for our Open House. We will have sale cattle on display and facilitate the viewing of other cattle at various ranch locations. Online bidding options will be available at the ranch and we will start serving supper at 6pm, immediately after the sale close out. Our breeding philosophy is to focus on the female. Our cows are expected to perform: calve and mother without assistance, breed back in a timely manner and wean a good calf. The registered cattle are managed the same as the commercial cows. We don’t single trait select, nor do we select for extremes. We select for traits that will complement one another, while continuously working at keeping our genetics problem free. This group of sale animals represents the heart of our herd, offering bred replacements, open yearlings and weaned heifer

calves. This is the best overall group of females we have offered for sale to date. Bar Star Cattle, Chad and Stephanie Murnin have brought a great set of weaned heifer calves as well, we are excited to have their family joining us. We are thankful for the opportunity to offer our own sale venue and welcome everyone to visit us at the open house. Also, a special thank you to Conard and Nancy Stitzlein and Terry Powlesland, of Mohican West for hosting us as guest consignors to their sale the past several years, and to Fred and Doreen McMurry, the other guest consignors at that sale. Your gracious hospitality was very much appreciated. Thanks to our current/past customers for trusting that cattle from our program will make a difference in yours. We appreciate your confidence and support. Be sure to reach out with any questions you may have. Our family is truly blessed to be involved in agriculture and with this great breed of cattle. Perfectly flexible structure, massive body depth, pretty front end, double goggles, the natural calf out of the 004B donor that we own with Lacey Ehlke Jepson. What a pedigree Sooner, Firefly 51F, P606 all in there. This one is begging to be drug to the Denver JNHE in the March division. They aren’t easy to make like this.

A Revved Up daughter that balances on paper and on the profile. She’s arrogant! The bottom side of the pedigree has Denver Champions like Times a Wastin and our first national champion H Sierra 6037 who was Horned Junior Champion in Denver 2007. Out of a first calf heifer.

Out of our powerhouse 155 donor and an unbelievable flush where she rose to the top of the females, two brothers are Denver pen prospects. A Twentytwelve was reserve B&O at Jr. National this year and this one has a lot of similarities, long necked, stout bonework, and square made. She sticks out in a crowd, she’ll be different than a lot of heifer calves that sell this fall, in good ways.
