SEMEN INTEREST

The Genetic Options Event consignors retain one-third revenue sharing semen interest in all bulls selling. This entitles the consignor to collect semen for in herd use and to 1/3 of the revenues of any semen sold. It is the buyers responsibility to ensure the seller’s interest is upheld if semen is ever sold, or if the bull or any interest in the bull is sold to a third party. The new bull owner will have full possession and full salvage value.

Understanding EPDS Marbling (MRB): Marbling score.

Calving Ease (CE): Percent of unassisted births when used on heifers.

Ribeye Area (REA): Square inches of ribeye.

Birth Weight (BW): Pounds of birth weight.

All-Purpose Index (API): Evaluates sires for use on the entire cow herd (bred to both Angus first-calf heifers and mature cows) with the portion of their daughters required to maintain herd size retained and the remaining heifers and steers put on feed and sold grade and yield.

Weaning Weight (WW): Pounds of weaning weight. Yearling Weight (YW): Pounds of yearling weight. Maternal Calving Ease (MCE): Percent of unassisted births in first-calving daughters.

Terminal Index (TI): Evaluates sire for use on mature Angus cows with all offspring put on feed and sold grade and yield.

After Flushing 015U, I was left a storage bank of embryos that have helped reshape the industry in the show ring as well as producing major herd sires and donors for many progressive cattleman. 015U has produced many champions across the country like THSF Lover Boy B33, the Grand Champion Bull at the 2016 Denver Stock Show and our newest donor THSF Miss Lovely B57, that made the top ten at the 2016 Junior Nationals.
