Spring 2023
REGISTERED RED ANGUS BULL
SALE
Hello Friends,
Thank you for reviewing our Spring 2023 Bull offering Our bulls are developed at home in large pastures, not pen raised They run in mid-Missouri in the Ozarks on large fescue pastures with rolling hills, creeks, cedars, oak trees, rocks, etc . They are developed slowly with longevity in mind . Each bull gets a lot of exercise to build muscle In addition, for their development they receive ADM AMP-T mineral and Accuration Fresh water is available at both ends of their paddock All bulls are up on their vaccinations, will have passed their BSE’s and are ready to go to work for you The foundation of our herd continues to be our highly maternal females Our dams have proven themselves over the years – with many just now retiring at 15-16 years of age . Their longevity, structure, udder quality and milking ability, feet and overall beauty have kept them here a long time .
Consistent with our herd development, our offering is the result of breeding to some of the top sires in North America, including some bred and raised right here at home We look forward to showing them to you and helping you find the best fit for your program
We sincerely appreciate your interest in our program - Ray & Susan, Maple Oaks Red Angus

EPD Data
Early in our careers here on the ranch, we went to the World Angus Forum in Canada and witnessed some amazing cattle that would make your jaw drop We knew then that we wanted to incorporate some of these best genetics into our herd back here in the U S We have been breeding a combination of US and Canadian Red Angus genetics ever since The one catch to doing this, however, is the EPDs Canada uses the AngusONE genetic evaluation in collaboration with the American Angus Association Canadian Angus also participates in the IGS genetic evaluations so that Red Angus Association of America members can invest in excelling Canadian genetics and their cattle will have EPDs at their RAAA Association upon registration However, being two different systems, the data doesn’t always translate well between the two leaving the EPDs on great animals not being a true indicator of an animal’s performance Therefore, we have included the degree of accuracy in this catalog as the 2nd line under the EPD data for each lot so you can use that as a factor in your decision-making .

Sale feature! Super sound, dark red, genetic gem, and big time herd sire character. One of the first bulls to be noticed by visitors. Sired by the Canadian legend “Red Minburn Copenhagen 3Y” whom has an incredible reputation for raising good footed, fertile, feminine, great uddered, heavy milking females that last forever. The Copenhagen females were high sellers at the U2 dispersal sale, and rightfully so as they have earned it based on their performance year after year.
As you study 4107J, you will find he is loaded with unique and proven red angus genetics. He possesses a solid epd profile, looks amazing, and will change the game on your next calf crop. His dam quickly entered our donor pen program and his maternal brother, MORA Outlaw 4107H was a feature of our Limited Reserve 2022 Spring Sale selling to Randy Meyer and Brad Mosby.
Cutting edge genetics, solid EPDs with an elite phenotype, make 4107J one of the most unique options in the entire offering.
MORA Outlaw 4107H, Maternal Brother to Lot 1 ENGD Beyonce 4107B - Dam of Lot 1SONS OF RED MINBURN COPENHAGEN
Outstanding bull and really cool Copenhagen son. Made for Missouri summers… short haired, good footed, big ribbed, wide topped, and tons of libido. 552J has a beautiful disposition and what stands out most about him is how low the muscle goes down on his rear end…. huge butt, almost hog like. He’s a little older so can cover a large group of heifers or cows. Sired by Copenhagen 3Y on top side and a very beautiful, moderate framed, heavy milking dam Red U2 Bela 552C. Copenhagen 552J will grab your attention. We are very excited to see the offspring he produces.

The genetic profile is impressive combining the Copenhagen 3Y with Rose 399c which goes back to one of the most widely used calving ease bulls of all time… Feddes Big Sky R9. Add the presence of Northline Fat Tony into the genetic profile and you have a stunning female maker. Will cover a lot of heifers or cows.

This thick boned, powerfully made bull is a special combination of our Big Cedar 5061F herd sire (seen also on pages 9 and 18) and our 992 cow family. With his darker color, solid muscle with a great disposition, he’ll be a great one to have out in your pasture and you’ll be more proud of him every day.
Sons of Red Box
Red Box 55C has been one of the most talked about Red Angus bulls in the breed over the last two years. Red Box displays unmatched phenotypic quality; his body volume, fleshing ease, soundness and style are evident in these two sons.
MORA 0132J is an exquisite combination of Red Box and one of the most eye catching females to walk our pastures. His dam has never missed and carries an exceptional MPPA of 109 on 9 calves. His maternal brother was one of our top selling bulls in 2022; we are currently selling semen off this brother (better known as “Hooch”, 0132H); Matching his dam with Red Box should make 0132J a strong performer for you as well. This is a nicely made bull with a significant amount of muscling all the way around and impressive depth of rib. Serious consideration for heifers.
SONS OF MANN RED BOX
MORA 4325J’s dam is a daughter out of one of our most proven calving ease sires, Copperhead 7172, and the stunning Six Mile Shauna 325Z. His dam has a strong 107 MPPA and with Red Box on the top side, we are excited to see what this pairing will yield in this strong 4325J son. He has a frame, length and overall presence that make him one of the top standouts in our offering. Heifer bull.

We are so impressed with our herd sire, Maple Oaks’ FirePower 2178F, a son of Mulberry 26P and one of our top producing dams. He is one of those rare bulls that is leaving a lasting impact on our herd. He provides power, performance and carcass all in one package. His offspring are slick with added frame size, length and weight. He is a tremendous bull and female maker. FirePower 2178F continually outperforms many of the great AI bulls used across North America when it comes to weaning time. He improves every cow we put him on. Great EPDs (Top 32% Pro$, 26% HB, 17% WW, 22% YW, 2% HPG, 20% CEM, 23% CW). We are proud to offer the following FirePower sons for your consideration (Lots 8-13).

Special bull… If part of your decision making when purchasing a bull takes into consideration the bull’s dam, take a close look at this powerhouse. His dam is dark red, powerful, feminine, and posts a 109 MPPA on six calves.
FirePower 4112J is well balanced, loaded with volume, capacity and muscle. He is deep from chest floor to flank. In addition to being a big spread bull (-1.2 BW to 106 YW), he possesses a solid epd profile, ranking high in categories that bring value… Performance (WW and YW : top 30%), Carcass/ Marbling (top 16%), and if you are retaining or selling replacements, expect fertile (top 3% HPG), maternal (CEM top 24%), great milking (top 24%) females. The calves come easy (-1.2 BW) and grow! FirePower 4112J can definitely enhance the direction of many programs! Could be considered for heifers in a fall breeding program, otherwise recommended for cows and larger heifers.

His dam is the cornerstone of our donor pen and we are excited to expand her offspring through the use of embryos. We currently retain all of our 5061c’s heifers and am confident you will do the same with 5061J daughters. His brother Big Cedar 5061F continues to earn a herd sire responsibility in our herd (sons selling as lots 4 & 5). 5061J will produce dark red, sought after sons that will top the marketplace. MORA FP 4141J could easily be the Lot 1 bull in any sale offering. Very attractive bull, and an eye catcher to those that visit. His heifer select numbers make him a serious calving ease option (65 lb BW, 14 CED, -3.7 BW). The kind we love…. come easy, grow quick and sell well. Make note of the exceptional maternal side… FirePower 2178F, Mulberry 26P (one of the greatest female makers of all time), Nebula P707, JBOB Expectation, Gladiator 32L, and more. “Consistency” defines his dam as she commands an MPPA of 108 on 7 calves, which is incredible considering the large contemporary group she competes in. Take note of the exceptional EPDs … Pro$ (top 22%), HB (top 22%), CED (top 34%), BW (top 18%), Milk (top 24%), HPG (top 7%), CEM (top 13%) Marbling (top 33%).

He has Red U2 Township on the top side and the beautiful Six Mile Minerva 55E on the bottom side. Keep in mind, this bull is good when he is in the presence of his herd, but a little uneasy when worked.
SONS OF RED U2 TOWNSHIP
When we traveled to the U2 dispersal sale in Lethbridge, Alberta and saw U2 Beauty 113z, we knew we had to incorporate her genetic profile within our program. Stunning, powerful, and one of the great ones in the Red Angus breed. We acquired semen on a special son of hers… U2 Township 17G and bred him to our super dark red, powerful and angular Nadia 7169D, a Six Mile Game Face 164Y daughter to create MORA Township 6169J. This bull brings it all… genetics, balance, muscle and growth… possibly the best bull in the entire offering. Recommended for cows.
Lot
Butt, Nuts, and Guts best describe this bull. He is moderate in size, his butt is wide and muscular, his nuts are huge (43cm scrotal largest in offering), and comes with lots of volume and guts. Excellent footed. Sound like a broken record but the foundation of our herd is the females and having a dam out of Mulberry 26P and Six Mile Varsity Blues 14z sure doesn’t hurt. His dam is dark cherry red and one of the most attractive females in the herd.
We have always admired the powerful, yet athletic makeup of this bull and highly anticipate you will too. A lot packed into this bull. Buy with confidence on this beauty.

Reckoning 149A - Sire of Lot 25
Lot 25
This is a super neat offering in a herd sire prospect that came out of the time vault!
MORA Reckoning 68J goes back to two of the all-time great bloodlines: Red U-2 Reckoning 149A and Red Six Mile Siera 257P, the dam of Red Six Mile Sakic 832S.
If you know your Red Angus bloodlines, you know this is really something special! We have enjoyed watching this calf grow and develop to be a larger framed bull.
He is recommended for cows; just going on two, he’s semen tested and ready to go.
