What is Generic Medicine? A generic medicine is a pharmaceutical medicine that contains chemicals similar to a drug that is originally protected by chemical patents. Generic medicines are allowed for sale after the patent on the original medicine expires. For the treatment of any disease, a chemical (salt) is prepared after all kinds of research and study; Later, the drug was named. Each company sells this salt under different names. Some sell it at a higher price and some at a lower price.
