Final major project

The data visualisations were made from layers of 3mm acrylic. The deeper the layer the stronger the smell, and each product state starts a layer down to the previous to enhance shadows and made the visualtions easier to differentiate.

30 of these shapes were created to hang together. Each shape is an average of all age groups findings of thesmell intensity and also displays how smells change when the product is changed. External lighting is used to enhance the light and shadows

The box contains the smells and sit in the same order as the data visualisations appear. The vials are unlabelled due to the sense of smell not needing to rely on any visual.

The booklet breaks down all the averages to reveal what the different age ranges smelt and which emotions were linked.

be cutting down CO2 emmisions or saving money by changing a lightbulb. The stamps work as a set, indivually but also in pairs working as problems and solutions.

Print design

The stamps work in pairs as well as on their own. The problems have a red colour palette and the solutions are in green.

The illustrations work with each other and as seen above flow between the pair. The typography is also linked, being opposite of one another to show wastage and the advantage of changing your ways.

06 BRITAIN THEN BRITAIN NOW A dissertation about the role of the poster, firstly in World War II, and how the poster has changed now and what new advertising techniques have been introduced since. Is there a future for the poster as we know it?

Dissertation and book design

The dissertation is in two parts and the books sit inside of a slipcase. Britian Then in is a deep blue because of the colours being more muted in World War II and a lot of colours are very bright now - which is why Britain Now is a lighter blue.

Depending on when in history I am talking about the style of the book changed as well. The paper texture and colour, layout and typefaces change between each book. The older style for the role of the poster in World War II and the new style for looking at the role of the poster now.

The portfolio work is shown on squares of thick paper with a photograph of the piece on the front and the back has other final images of the work and also sketchbook and development work.

The website has been kept really clean and the home oage lists all of my work which are interactable when you hover over them, to reveal colour. After choosing a piece of work you can see information, pictures and links the work on external site. To view the image larger you can click any and they will start a light box.

In order to contact me, the users have two choices, either email me or they can use the contact form. Employers also have the oppurtunity to download my CV.
