STUD INFORMATION Wondenia and Denmire - Gilgandra NSW At Wondenia we commenced breeding Fleckvieh cattle in 1972. They were then known as Simmentals but all the original Simmental genetics which came into Australia were German bloodlines or Fleckvieh cattle. We have been breeding the easier doing earlier maturing lines of Fleckvieh cattle through our 46 years of breeding with them. Wondenia now has 4 generations involved in breeding Fleckvieh cattle with our own Wondenia herd and the Midlands herd of the Cramp family at Crookwell. We more recently established the Denmire herd which is concentrating on more dual purpose lines of Fleckvieh cattle. Wondenia bloodlines can be found in herds all across Australia and in other parts of the world as we have sold cattle to all states of Australia and we have been involved in exports of our cattle to Indonesia, China and Bangladesh. We continue to supply other breeders here in Australia and the export industry our very functional commercially acceptable cattle. As we have increased our breeding focus in the last five or six years on more dual purpose breeding in our herds, we are presenting bulls and females here in this sale that will work well in any beef or dairy herd anywhere around Australia.
Daraabah & Glenanna - Dubbo NSW Daraabah Fleckviehs was established near Dubbo, NSW in 2011 and has grown steadily each year since. By 2019 we will have approximately 120 registered breeding cows. We breed for early maturing, moderately framed animals with good pigmentation. We are very pleased with the bulls we have on offer in this sale. They are all well grown, structurally correct and naturally quiet. The bulls have been given a light show preparation of a balanced ration, fed twice a day, comprising less than 1% of their body weight per day. We believe this gives the bulls an opportunity to reach their potential without compromising their longevity. Our kids are heavily involved in the stud. Our son, Lochie has 2 bulls for sale, lots 3 and 10. Our daughter, Maddie has her own stud, Glenanna Fleckviehs and has a young heifer for sale, lot 37. All 3 lots are well worth a look. STUD INFORMATION Koorinook - Cudgewa VIC The Simmental breed were cross-bred with Koorinook’s Friesian dairy stock in the early eighties, and while the farm later transitioned to a mix of sheep and dairy, when Ruth and Russell McKelvey took over the reins, and decided they wanted to focus on specialist breeding, they chose the Fleckvieh breed based on their aesthetics and gentle nature. Purchasing our first eleven Fleckvieh cows and four heifers in 2012 from Max Dench owner of ‘Wondenia’ Fleckvieh in Gilgandra, New South Wales, we have continued to grow and expand our herd. While our herd is relatively young, the blood-lines and heritage of this breed run rich and deep, and we continue to develop and explore the possibilities of this unique breed. Eando - Cootamundra NSW Eando is situated on the Gundagai Road at Cootamundra. We have been breeding Fleckvieh cattle since 1972 becoming a purebred stud in 1981 showing and selling cattle to both stud and commercial breeders. Medway Park - Dubbo NSW Medway Park Fleckvieh was established by Peter and Leanne Stimpson in late 2014 after sons Thomas and Harry became interested in showing cattle. The small herd consists mainly of Wondenia, Tennysonvale and Daraabah bloodlines. The Stimpson family are showing 3 females and 3 bulls at Canberra with two of the bulls in the sale. Midlands - Crookwell NSW Midlands is owned by Mick and Rachael Cramp and family and was established about 14 years ago with cows of Rachael’s from the Wondenia herd. The Cramp family are the 3rd and 4th generation of the Wondenia Fleckvieh family. The five Cramp children, Joseph, Naomi, Ned, Charlie and Darcy, all have cows in the Wondenia herd, with some of these cows and their progeny being shown at The Fleckvieh Feature Show in Canberra. Midlands is showing four heifers and a bull at Canberra with one young poll heifer and one young poll bull in the sale. The bull is a son of the cow Midlands Joy who was Reserve Senior Female at last years Dubbo Fleckvieh Show. The Lodge - Trunkey Creek NSW The Lodge is owned by Les and Su Borgstahl and was established last year on an idyllic setting not far out of Trunkey Creek with two cows purchased from Wondenia. Trunkey Creek is about midway between Orange and Crookwell in central NSW. The progeny since born from these two cows are being shown at Canberra with the young poll bull in the sale.

STUD INFORMATION Kalkite Park - Jindabyne NSW The stud has been breeding Fleckvieh cattle now for over thirty years. We select largely on the performance of the females. Cows are expected to produce a calf every year and are able to do so in the toughest of conditions. Animals are usually supplementary fed only in the second half of winter when they are calving (August/ September). Cows are kept as long as they are able to produce and raise a calf. Many are still doing so at fifteen or more years of age. Bulls are bought in regularly to bring completely new blood lines and are also expected to perform through their breeding lives (senior bulls fifty plus cows every year). Traits are selected for to improve the herd without compromising on any of the qualities that the breed is known for. Number one for all animals is to be quiet and easy to handle so cattle work becomes a pleasure. These animals are guaranteed to thrive and excel in any environment. The stud has now nearly all polled animals. It would be worth contacting James MacDonald to get a description of the bull. Karova - Caffreys Flat NSW We at Karova Fleckvieh have sought to source the very best Fleckvieh Genetics from around the globe and have imported embryos from Austria, Germany and South Africa. We only select Fleckvieh bloodlines, (genetics originating from Germany or Austria), as we have found that the Fleckvieh animal is most suited to all environments. The Fleckvieh cow is an efficient, highly productive, fertile female, able to cope with all climatic conditions, offering maternal traits, fertility, calving ease, growth, longevity and the ability to perform both as a beef and milk animal. Fleckvieh bulls are virile, well muscled, have a good temperament and are nature's own natural growth promotant.
