Out- The Office Working outside reduces stress, increases creativity, reduces tension, reduces body strain and calms us down. O-TO is an outdoor meeting and work space, designed for office workers. It uses the public realm, which is the everyday spaces that we move and linger within, the places we live, work and play. It provides areas which can be adapted into outdoor work environments. By booking the space online, it becomes your personal outdoor workspace.

Out- The Office When the space is locked/reserved the electronically frosted glass is slid down providing security. When users turn up and unlocks the space the glass folds up as seen in the picture. If the user wants to stand they must simply turn the seat in an clockwise direction, creating space to stand

Brief- to design a product to reduce stress related to early to mild onset dementia. Background- routine plays a massive role within a suffers life, set routines

can help reduce confusion, frustration and memory loss and if there is no routine a suffer can appear physically stressed, anxious and irritated.

Result- The projector projects key pieces of information related to the day

ranging from tasks, reminders, prompts and important information onto a wall or flat surface, with the aim of creating an unmissable routine for the dementia suffer to notice, ultimately reducing stress related to routines.

The Brief // To design and develop a complimentary tabletop timepiece for Instrmnt.


Tabletop Clock


Ideation


CAD Model

A CAD model was created, using Solidworks then Keyshot, to show a visual representation of what the final clock would look like.


Deconstructed

Clock hands slot into clock face.

INSTRMNT clock face fits onto the front of the mechanism.

Entirety of clock parts, slot into the main body.

Clock mechanism screws onto the back.

Back unscrews to reveal clock mechanism.

Rubber stand, provides a non-slip surface.


The removeable stand keeps the clock at a suitable angle for viewing the time when placed on most surfaces. When the stand is removed, and the back twisted off, the clock mechanism is revealed, allowing the user to change the time and set alarms.


The BBC Vision, is a hologram and augmented reality device for the classroom. It enables teachers to use the power of visual learning combined with BBC Bitesize, to help children further understand the topic they are learning about, by being able to visualise it in 3D.


This demonstrates how BBC Visions can aid learning in the classroom by using 3D AR holograms.


Teaching mode Allows teachers to be fully in-control whilst giving demonstrations. Exploring mode Allows students to explore and learn through AR.

Private Study Allows users to take the device home and study or revise independantly by linking it to BBC Bitesize.


This shows the hand gestures the user will use, to move the 3D hologram’s. By moving your hands, you can move it up and down, side to side, spin it and zoom in and out. The board also displays the wireless charging port that is used to charge the main appliance.


The Brief // To design an innovative, gender neutral educational toy suitable to be sold in a Wilko Store. It should consider physical, cognitive or emotional development of a child within an age group of 1-2.

It is made from 100% pure natural rubber and is painted with non-toxic food grade paint and is therefore safe for children to chew, bite and play with.

Products on the market currently allow children to develop tactile and sensory sensors, however they don’t teach the child anything. By using animals this product also has a fun education purpose.

The design includes four animals a giraffe, a cow, a chicken and a hedgehog. On each of these animals there are different textures to aid sensory and tactile development.

Swim With

EVENTS Events are held at local swimming pools, schools, shopping centres etc. Aimed at promoting Speedos brand and also advertising the Campaign ‘Swim with Speedo’

THE APP

The campaign aims to get people to try swimming and therefore offeres free swimming sessions.

The app is linked with the campaign and events. It can be used as a social tool, where people can meet up and swim. It tracks your progress and stats off the Speedo Swift which can be used in conjunction with the app.

Products will relate to Speedo Swim, they aim to get everyone looking the same and therefore seem like a team. These include t-shirts, waterproof bags, shoes and swimming goggles.They can purchase a Speedo swim pack which contain such items, through the App

The Swim Pack

The Swim pack is given out at events, talks and sessions. It contains everything you need to go swimming. The packs are available in different sizes, sexes and age ranges. These packs will encourage people to swim and attend ‘Swim with Speedo’ sessions.
