University of Georgia President

President Jere W. Morehead began his tenure as the 22nd University of Georgia President on July 1, 2013. Under his

ship, the University has risen in the rankings of the best public colleges and universities and has completed a series of initia tives to enhance student learning and success, including a requirement for experiential learning for all undergraduates.

Additionally, the University completed the most successful capital campaign in its history, raising $1.45 billion, and launched an Innovation District initiative to create UGA’s campus of the future, where students and faculty will partner with industry to generate ideas and solutions to continue the University’s role as a powerful driver of economic development in Georgia. During President Morehead’s tenure, UGA has increased its research expenditures by more than 50% and has been ranked among the top five universities for research based products reaching the marketplace for the past ten years. UGA was ranked No. 1 in the nation for FY2022.

In keeping with his focus on student success, President Morehead launched the ALL Georgia Program to support students from rural areas and created the Double Dawgs program, which enables students to save time and money by earning an undergraduate and graduate degree in five years or less. A UGA education is in greater demand than ever, with more than 43,500 applications submitted for a spot in the incoming class of 2027, and 6,200 students enrolled in that first-year class.

President Morehead has served the University of Georgia since 1986 in both faculty and administrative roles. Before becoming President, he was Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost from 2010 to 2013. Prior to 2010, he held several key administrative assignments, including Vice President for Instruction, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Associate Provost and Director of the Honors Program, and acting Executive Director of Legal Affairs.

He is the Meigs Professor of Legal Studies in the Terry College of Business, where he has held a faculty appointment since 1986. He is a co-author of several books and book chapters, including “The Legal and Regulatory Environment of Business,” and he has published scholarly articles on legal topics ranging from export controls to jury selection. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the American Business Law Journal.

Josh Brooks

J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics

J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks, a finalist for Sports Business Journal’s Athletic Director of the Year in 2023, continues to lead the University of Georgia Athletic Association through historic success. Georgia Athletics boasts remarkable accomplishments over the last three years, including a No. 7 final ranking in the 2023 LEARFIELD Directors Cup — Georgia’s highest mark in 18 years, a record-setting student-athlete GPA in each of the last two academic campaigns, unparalleled fundraising and over 15 capital projects that have been completed or are in progress

Bulldog athletic teams have won three team national championships and a total of seven SEC crowns, while there have been 15 individual national champions

The women’s soccer and volleyball teams have made the NCAA tournament in backto-back years for the first-time ever. During Wes Johnson’s first season as head coach, the baseball program advanced to a NCAA Super Regional for the first time since 2008.

Keidane McAlpine guided the soccer team to the 2023 SEC Championship, finishing with its highest ranking ever at No. 13 nationally

In addition to back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022, Georgia’s football team boasts an incredible 39-0 regular season record during Brooks’ three-year tenure. They have also recorded three-straight 12-0 regular seasons – the first time in SEC lore a program has done so. The Bulldogs enter the 2024 campaign having won an SEC and school record 27-straight regular season conference games and riding a school record 25-game home win streak

From academic and athletic success to historic fundraising and a multitude of facility projects, Brooks has continued to sustain Georgia’s standing as a national powerhouse. The Georgia Bulldog Club set new fundraising records in each of the last three years with $86.4 million raised in 2022, $102 million in 2023 and $113 million in 2024

Brooks has overseen substantial facility upgrades that include the brand-new Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Tennis Courts, improvements to the south side of Sanford Stadium, a $45 million renovation to Foley Field, a $38 million upgrade to the Jack Turner Softball Stadium, a new $1.8 million men’s and women’s basketball weight room as well as expansive updates to Stegeman Coliseum and a renovation project in the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall

Georgia also built a new, state-of-the-art track and field locker room and recently announced plans to construct a one-of-a-kind track facility off South Milledge Avenue. This project will include the only indoor track and field venue in the state of Georgia and will allow the Bulldogs to host NCAA and SEC events as well as summer camps

While facility upgrades have been at the forefront, Georgia’s emphasis on Name, Image, and Likeness has further enhanced its commitment to the student-athlete experience. Georgia Athletics was one of the first departments to announce a comprehensive NIL program, which provides wide-ranging education, multi-media management tools and brand-building training. The Bulldogs became one of the first schools to build an in-house NIL department with an Athlete Manager to help student-athletes navigate this space

Under his guidance, Georgia re-branded the mental health and performance department, bringing in a new full-time director and an additional clinical counselor as well as adding sports psychology services for every team. A DEI committee was also established as Courtney Gay was hired to lead in the department’s DEI efforts

A native of Hammond, La., Brooks’ vision of competing for championships and postseason success and his passion for student-athletes began well before his time as Athletic Director

Before returning to UGA in 2016 as Executive Associate Director of Athletics, Brooks served as Deputy Athletics Director at the University of Louisiana Monroe from 2015-16 and Director of Athletics at Millsaps College from 2014-15. He also served in capacities as Director of Football Operations (2008-11) and Assistant and Associate AD for Internal Operations (2012-14) in his previous stint at UGA

Brooks also served as director of football operations at the University of Louisiana-Monroe beginning in 2004. He gained experience as a student at Louisiana State University, working as an equipment manager and a student assistant coach. During his four years at LSU, the Tigers participated in the 2000 Peach Bowl, 2002 Sugar Bowl, and won the 2001 Southeastern Conference championship

Brooks graduated from LSU (’02) with a degree in Kinesiology and completed his master’s degree in Sport Management from UGA (‘14). He and his wife, Lillie, have twin sons, Jackson and James, born in July of 2009 and a third son, Davis, born in March of 2012. He and his wife Lillie have become a vital part of the Athens community. On January 20, 2021, just two weeks after becoming Athletic Director, Brooks pledged $100,000 to create a need-based scholarship to support UGA students from Athens-Clarke County. His gift created a Georgia Commitment Scholarship (GCS), adding to the more than 550 endowed, need-based scholarships created under the GCS program since its launch in January 2017.

Georgia Golf History

In the spring of 1924, a handful of Georgia students banded together to create the university's inaugural golf team, marking the beginning of a fierce tradition of excellence.

In the early days of the program, the Georgia Men’s Golf team operated without a coach; instead, one player stepped into the role of captain, guiding their fellow Bulldogs. Among the first captains were notable figures like Harris Jones, John Grant, Billy Oliver, and Hugh Nunnally, who set the stage for what was to come.

The dawn of formal coaching arrived in 1930 with Murray Soule, who began to mold the program into something greater. He was succeeded by J.M. McFadden from 1933 to 1935, who then handed the reins to R.L. Keener, the coach from 1935 to 1942. Under Keener’s leadership, the Bulldogs claimed their first Southeastern Conference championship in 1941, but the shadow of World War II forced the team into hiatus for several years.

In 1946, Howell Hollis took the helm, laying a robust foundation for the program that would endure for decades. His tenure lasted until 1970, during which he guided 13 of his 25 teams to the NCAA Championships, achieving eight top-10 finishes and securing 13 SEC titles along the way. Notably, Hollis produced 10 individual conference champions, including George Hamer, who not only won the conference title in 1946 but also captured the national championship—a feat that remains unique among Bulldogs.

Hamer, affectionately dubbed "The Georgia Pine" for his stature, went on to achieve remarkable victories, including three Southeastern Amateur titles and wins at the Georgia State Open and Southern Amateur. Hollis also drew some of the game's finest talents to Athens, including David Boyd, Jimmy Gabrielsen, Vinny Giles, and Danny Yates, all of whom left a lasting impact on the program.

Following Hollis’ departure in 1970, Dick Copas stepped up, maintaining the high standards set by his predecessor. From 1971 to 1996, he guided the Bulldogs to 17 NCAA appearances, achieving 10 top-10 finishes and seven SEC titles. Under his mentorship, 61 players earned All-SEC honors, and 31 achieved All-American status. In 1978, Copas was recognized as National Coach of the Year, a testament to his exceptional leadership.

Copas nurtured an array of standout players, including Peter Persons, Chip Beck, Griff Moody, Matt Peterson, Paul Claxton, and Franklin Langham, solidifying Georgia's reputation in collegiate golf.

After Copas, Chris Haack took charge, transitioning from the American Junior Golf Association to lead the Bulldogs. In just his third year, he guided the team to its first national championship in 1999 and was subsequently named National Coach of the Year. Haack repeated this success in 2005, leading Georgia to another national title and earning the same recognition once more.

Under Haack’s stewardship, the Bulldogs have claimed five more SEC titles, raising Georgia's total to an impressive 26 championships. He has overseen record-breaking performances, with teams setting new benchmarks for lowest tournament and round scores, as well as individual achievements. Haack’s influence is reflected in the accomplishments of his players, with 32 earning All-American accolades and 36 being recognized as All-SEC, including standout players like 1998’s Jeremy Parrott, 2001’s Nick Cassini, and 2006’s Chris Kirk.

Through the years, the Georgia golf program has evolved, rooted in a legacy of leadership, talent, and resilience, reflecting the spirit and dedication of those who have come before.

SECond to None

The Georgia Men’s Golf program has produced 29 Southeastern Conference Champions.

This record exceeds any other league school and is the most of any athletic team at the University of Georgia.

The University of Georgia men’s golf team has a rich history of success in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), highlighted by numerous championship wins since its inception. The Bulldogs first claimed the SEC title in 1941, posting a score of 616 in their home city of Athens, Georgia.

Over the decades, they continued to dominate the conference, with notable victories throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including a remarkable performance in 1951 with a score of 579. The team maintained its competitive edge, securing championships in the 2000s, with significant wins at St. Simons Island in 2001, 2004, and 2006.

Their most recent triumph came in 2016, further cementing UGA’s legacy as a powerhouse in collegiate golf and showcasing the Bulldogs’ commitment to excellence in the sport.

Under the leadership of Coach Haack, the Bulldogs have secured 8 SEC Championship wins.

1999 National Champions

Following the 1999 NCAA Championship in Chaska, Minn.

The announcer called out the wrong school as the winner of the national title.

A torrential rainstorm hit the suburb of Minneapolis. And a courtesy van provided to the actual champion was vandalized, presumably by a not-so-gracious loser.

But guess what? The players and coaches from the Georgia men’s golf team could not have cared less. All of that was a small price to pay for the program’;s first national championship.

“It’s an indescribable feeling,” said Coach Chris Haack, whose Georgia (not Washington, as the announcer said) squad secured the trophy. “All the hard work, all the sacrifice, all the time spent hitting balls, it’s worth it. I always wondered what it felt like when teams like UNLV and Oklahoma State won the national title. Now I know and it’s a great feeling. I am so proud of our guys. A four-day tournament is a real grind, but they stayed focused and played good, steady golf all week. They really played like champions.”

Especially on the last day of the tournament. The Bulldogs entered the fourth and final round trailing perennial power Oklahoma State by five shots at Hazeltine National Golf Club. Going in, the players and coaches to a man said making up five shots was not a difficult proposition and they were right. Georgia actually pulled ahead after just two holes and extended its lead throughout the rest of the front nine before holding on down the stretch to win by three.

“We knew that we had to be patient on this course because so much can change so quickly,” Michael Morrison said. “You can’t take anything for granted. You have to play every shot as hard as the last one. You’ve got to play every hole to the best of your ability. I think we all did that.”

Particularly Ryuji Imada. He paced the comeback effort with a 5-under par 67, one off the course record for Hazeltine. Imada finished the tournament at

one-under 287, good enough for second place behind Northwestern’s Luke Donald, the National Player of the Year who fired a 284.

“It was one of the best 18 holes of golf I’ve ever seen,” said Haack, who sported a newly shaved bald head after the NCAAs as he made good on a pre-tournament promise. “Ryuji was spectacular. He certainly picked the right time to turn it on. That could go down in history as one of the best final rounds at the NCAAs. The little man just put us on his back and took us to the title.”

Imada, who garnered First-Team All-America honors two days after the NCAAs, had a chance at winning the medalist title down the stretch, but he said he focused more on the team crown.

“The last thing I wanted to do was mess up and cost us the national championship,” Imada said. “I had a couple of chances to go at the flag, but I didn’t because it meant more for us as a team to win the national championship. I wanted to be aggressive, but I didn’t want to let the team down.”

Imada finished the year as the nation’s third-ranked golfer, trailing only Donald and Georgia Tech’s Bryce Molder.

“It’s the best feeling I’ve ever had. It’s unbelievable”, Nick Cassini said. “No matter what any of us do the rest of our lives in golf, we’ll be the 1999 national champions. It’s like a dream come true.”

2005 National Champions

With Coach Chris Haack rubbing the lucky coin in his pocket, the Georgia men’s golf team cashed in at the NCAA Championship.

The Bulldogs went wire-to-wire as the tournament leader at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., finishing with an 11-shot advantage over instate rival Georgia Tech. Georgia fired an even-par 280 in the final round to wind up at 15-over 1,135.

Afterward, Haack was chosen as the recipient of the Golf Coaches Association of America’s Dave Williams Award as the National Coach of the Year.

“I could not be prouder of this group of guys,” said Haack, who carried a coin given to him by his daughter, Katie, that had the inscription, “Dad, I Love You.”

“I knew that we had the talent, the confidence and the demeanor to challenge for the championship this year,” Haack continued. “It’s been a good year, but we only had two wins coming in. I knew if they all put it together, it would be special. They just happened to do it this week when it meant the most.”

The national championship is the second in Georgia history. The 1999 Bulldogs claimed the national title in Minnesota. It was also the Bulldogs’ third tournament title of the year.

“it’s awesome to go out like this,” said David Denham, the only senior in the Bulldogs’ lineup. “You live for moments like this. Every team strives to win the national championship, but not too many of them do it.”

“This is what you play for,” Richard Scott said. “This is what this team was put together for. It’s great to go out and win other tournaments, but this is the one we all play for.”

“This is the biggest one,” team captain Kevin Kisner said.”This is what you set your goals for. This is why we all came to Georgia. We’ve got too solid of a team not to win tournaments. When we all play well, it’s hard for us to lose.”

The Bulldogs entered the final round with a 9-shot lead over the Yellow Jackets, and they knew it would be hard to give that kind of lead away. Still, when Brendon Todd’s putt rolled in on No. 18, the players and coaches were all at once relieved and ecstatic.

“This is the ultimate feeling,” Chris Kirk said. “It’s awesome. It’s a great group of guys, and I have loved playing with them the last two years.”

“It feels great,”Todd said.”It’s probably the biggest accomplishment any of us have in golf. It’s just incredible to win the national championship. And I’m excited about the next couple of years. I think we might have some more in us.”

Todd wound up as the Bulldogs’ top individual at 3-over 283, followed by Kirk and Kisner at 5-over 285, Scott at 6-over 286 and Denham at 8-over 288. Todd finished tied for seventh, and Kirk and Kisner were in the group that tied for 13th. Scott had a top-20 finish as he wound up tied for 16th.

Following the NCAAs, all five golfers earned All-America honors. In addition, assistant coach Jim Douglas announced he was stepping down to pursue other business opportunities and he was succeeded on the staff by former Bulldog All-American Ryan Hybl.

Chris Haack

Head Coach/Director of Golf 29th Season

Chris Haack was named the Georgia men’s golf coach on July 18,1996 – and he has guided the Bulldogs to their highest levels of success.

Haack has coached the Bulldogs to two national championships (the only two in school history), eight Southeastern Conference crowns, 67 team tournament titles, and virtually every squad and individual records.

Under his tutelage, 27 Bulldogs have accumulated 63 medalist titles. Thirty-one of his players have rolled up 70 All-America honors, while 33 have earned 73 All-SEC certificates. He also has coached 19 Scholar All-Americans. Eleven of Haack’s pupils have amassed 44 PGA Tour wins and, all told, his former players have earned more than $200 million at the pro level.

Haack was inducted into the GCAA Hall of Fame in 2012, the GSGA’s Georgia Golf Hall of Fame in 2016, and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

Haack’s Bulldogs have had nine top-10 and 17 top-20 efforts at the NCAAs, including the 1999 and 2005 national championships, runner-up efforts in 2007 and 2011, and third-place showings in 2009 and 2015.

In 2022, Haack led the Bulldogs to the Linger Longer Invitational title, giving him at least one win in 22 of his 26 seasons. He guided his team back to the NCAA Championships with a fourth-place showing in the Bryan Regional. Haack coached Trent Phillips to his fourth straight All-America certificate (the fifth Bulldog to accomplish that feat) and his fourth consecutive First-Team All-SEC recognition (the first Bulldog reaching that status) and Maxwell Ford to the SEC’s All-Freshman Team. Phillips picked up medalist honors in the Williams Cup and was on the watch list for several prestigious postseason awards.

In 2021, Haack piloted the Bulldogs to team titles in the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate and the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship. He coached Phillips and Davis Thompson to medalist honors in the Gator Invitational and Tiger Invitational, respectively. Thompson was named First-Team All-America and was picked as the SEC Golfer of the Year. Phillips became a third-time All-American and joined Thompson as First-Team All-SEC. Thompson, Phillips, and Connor Creasy earned All-America Scholar recognition. Sepp Straka, an All-American for Haack in 2016, represented Austria in Olympics in Tokyo with his brother and former UGA teammate Sam on the bag.

Haack led the Bulldogs to wins in the Jim Rivers Invitational and the Crooked Stick Invitational in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. Thompson and Phillips earned First-Team All-America honors and they were joined by Calum Masters as All-America Scholars.

His Bulldogs won thrice in 2019, taking the Puerto Rico Classic, the Linger Longer Invitational, and the NCAA Athens Regional. Phillips, Spencer Ralston, and Thompson were chosen as All-Americans and Phillips became Haack’s eighth SEC Freshman of the Year.

In 2018, Ralston earned All-America recognition for the Bulldogs, who finished second in three events. Greyson Sigg was an All-American while Ralston was chosen for the Freshman All-SEC squad in 2017.

In 2016, Haack led the Bulldogs to four team titles, including the 29th SEC Championship in school history and the Tuscaloosa Regional. Haack was chosen as the SEC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career. Lee McCoy was picked as an All-American and as the SEC Golfer of the Year after claiming conference medalist honors. Bubba Watson, an All-American for Haack in 2000, represented the United States in the 2016 Olympics.

In 2015, Haack led the Bulldogs to three victories, then piloted the squad to the “Final Fore” in the NCAA Championships. McCoy was an All-American after claiming medalist honors a school-record-tying four times and Zach Healy was an All-American.

Haack’s 2014 Bulldogs won four times, including the San Antonio Regional. Haack’s charges picked up two titles in 2013, winning the Brickyard Collegiate Championship and the Bulldog Battle at

Mountain Lake.

In 2012, Haack guided a quintet of one junior, three sophomores and one freshman to the NCAAs.

Watson became the first Bulldog to win a professional major as he captured the 2012 Masters title. In 2014, Watson won the Masters again, made the U.S. Ryder Cup Team, and was one of an unprecedented six Bulldogs (joining Brian Harman, Harris English, Russell Henley, Chris Kirk and Brendon Todd) to win a PGA Tour event. In 2012, Haack added the position of Director of Golf. He serves as the liaison between the Athletic Association and the UGA Golf Course, oversees the Boyd Center and the adjacent practice facilities, and is available as counsel to women’s coach Josh Brewer.

Haack piloted the 2011 Bulldogs to the final match of the NCAAs. In 2009-10, Haack coached Henley to National and SEC Player of the Year honors. He guided the Bulldogs to three wins, including the SEC Championship. In the Williams Intercollegiate, Haack’s squad made up a 15shot deficit after two rounds to win by one shot – the largest rally in his tenure.

The 2009 Bulldogs won five tournaments, including the SEC title. His Bulldogs finished No. 1 in the final Golfstat poll and came in third at the NCAAs. The 2008 Bulldogs finished the year with the No. 1 ranking. Haack’s team won three times and came in eighth at the NCAAs. In 2007, Georgia won five out of seven tournaments. Despite placing second at the NCAAs, Georgia held the final No. 1 ranking. In 2006, Haack led the Bulldogs to a school-record-tying six tournament wins and he was chosen as the SEC Coach of the Year. He was selected by the GCAA as the 2006 head coach for the U.S. Palmer Cup Team.

The Bulldogs won three tournaments in 2005 – including the most memorable one in the spring as Georgia capped the season with a wire-to-wire win at the NCAAs. Haack was chosen as the National Coach of the Year. Haack’s 2004 Bulldogs won the SEC title. In 2003, his Bulldogs cracked the win column at the Tennessee Tournament of Champions. Though his 2002 Bulldogs did not win a tournament, Haack was recognized as one of the nation’s top coaches as he was chosen as coach for Team USA for the Palmer Cup.

Haack’s 2001 Bulldogs won six events, including a school-record four straight, and finished the season ranked No. 1 in the nation. Haack’s 2000 Bulldogs won three tournaments and he earned SEC Coach of the Year honors.

Haack’s breakthrough season with the Bulldogs came in 1999. No Georgia team had ever ascended to the No. 1 position in the polls, but Haack’s team did so early in the spring campaign. The Bulldogs later validated their ranking by winning the program’s first national championship. Haack was named National Coach of the Year.

In 1998, Haack led Georgia to four wins, including its first SEC crown since 1988. Haack’s first Georgia squad in 1997 showed glimpses of what lay ahead as the youthful Bulldogs finished fourth or better in seven of 11 events and advanced to the NCAA Regional.

Before being named Georgia’s coach, Haack was a driving force for the American Junior Golf Association. He joined the AJGA in 1981 as a tournament director before becoming director of operations in 1984 and director of development in 1985. He served a seven-year stint as captain of the Canon Cup West Team, squads that included Tiger Woods. In an initiative begun as foundation director from 1988-90, he organized and established fund-raising programs to build surplus moneys for the AJGA’s perpetuity, bringing in more than $750,000 for the foundation and other junior programs. Haack served as assistant executive director from 1990-96, helping manage a staff of 22 and an annual budget of $2.5 million. He helped oversee the running of 50-plus events nationwide.

The recipient of the AJGA Sportsmanship Award, Haack graduated from Newnan High School in 1978. He attended West Georgia College, where he played on the golf team, and he received his degree from Mellen.

Haack is married to the former Ronda Livesay and they have six children (Kasi, Charlie, Kassidy, Katie, Kaylee, and Katie Beth) and one grandson (Banks).

Jim AssociateDouglas

Head Coach 23rd Season

Jim Douglas, who helped the Georgia men’s golf team win the program’s two national championships, rejoined the Bulldogs’ staff in January of 2011 and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in July of 2012. He is in his 23rd season overall with the Bulldogs.

Douglas was Georgia’s assistant coach from 1997 through 2005, during which time the Bulldogs celebrated some of their greatest success.

With Douglas as Coach Chris Haack’s lieutenant, Georgia won NCAA titles in 1999 and 2005, along with four Southeastern Conference championships (1998, 2000, 2001 and 2004). Georgia produced 26 All-Americans, 30 All-SEC picks, two SEC Players of the Year, two SEC Freshmen of the Year, 33 SEC Academic Honor Roll selections, six Scholar All-Americans, and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient in that span.

Douglas served parts of the 200910 season as a volunteer coach, including during Georgia’s run to the SEC title.

In 2011, with Douglas assisting Haack in the spring, the Bulldogs advanced to the final match of the NCAA Championship. Douglas and Haack also guided the Bulldogs to the 2015 “Final Fore.” In 2015, Douglas also helped the Bulldogs win the 29th SEC title in school history.

Douglas graduated from UGA with a degrees in Political Science and History.

He has two sons, James and Charles.

Mookie DeMoss

Assistant Coach 2nd Season

Former Georgia men’s golf letterman Mookie DeMoss joined the program’s staff as an assistant coach on Jan. 11, 2024. He is in his second season with the team.

DeMoss, a Duluth native, captained the 2015 squad that went to the Final Four at the NCAA Championships. He was also an All-American Honorable Mention in 2015 and finished 11th individually in NCAA Stroke Play that year.

“I’m extremely grateful and honored to be back at Georgia,” DeMoss said. “In my opinion, the Georgia golf program is the best in the country - the tradition here is second to none. I was very humbled when Coach Haack approached me about this assistant coaching position. I learned so much from playing here and from former players pouring into me and this program. My wife and I both graduated from UGA and spent the first few years of our marriage here, is getting to be back in Athens is incredible. I’m so excited to get to work and for the opportunity to be part of Georgia again.”

During his time as a Bulldog, DeMoss helped lead the team to 10 tour-

nament wins, including three team victories in 2015. His best finish that season was a third-place result and earned a low round of 68.

After graduating from Georgia in 2015, DeMoss competed in PGA TOUR Canada. He then played at the Barbasol Championships, a PGA TOUR event, in July of 2017, and the PGA Tour Latinoamérica in 2018 before becoming a Korn Ferry Tour member in 2019. In 2020, DeMoss won the Kannapolis Open on the GPro Tour, shooting 67-61-62 and carding a 23-under 190. He returned to PGA Tour Latinoamérica in 2020 and 2021.

Between Feb. 2020 and Sept. 2023, DeMoss earned seven top-15 finishes across 22 events. During his professional career, DeMoss Monday qualified for multiple events on the Korn Ferry Tour and the PGA TOUR, including the Barbasol and Club Car Championship at The Landings Club in April 2022. He also caddied on the PGA TOUR for former Bulldogs Sepp Straka, Chris Kirk, Brendon Todd, Keith Mitchell and TOUR Player Josh Teater.

“This team is a really tight-knit group of guys,” DeMoss said. “They love to compete, and I think they haven’t come close to reaching their potential yet. My goal is to help maximize potential and help these guys to fall in love with the process of being the best they are capable of becoming.”

DeMoss and his wife, Betsy, are both Bulldog graduates and stayed in the Athens area for the first few years of their marriage. The two recently welcomed a daughter, Jane, on October 4th, 2023.

2024-2025 Season Preview

The 2024-25 Bulldogs will travel to a pair of tournaments within the state and return to several familiar sites for their fall and spring seasons, head coach Chris Haack announced.

“We are excited about the great golf courses our team is going to compete on this year, while against some of the best team around the country,” Haack said. “We can’t wait to get started.”

In total, Georgia will play in five tournaments that the team participated in last season.

The Bulldogs will open the season Sept. 1-2 in the Island Resort Intercollegiate in Bark River, Michigan at the Sage Run Golf Club before playing in the Valero Collegiate in San Antonio, Texas, at the home of the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open, hosted by UTSA. Georgia will compete against the Roadrunners, Auburn, Clemson, East Tennessee State, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, SMU, North Florida, Ole Miss, TCU, Virginia, Tennessee and Vanderbilt in the event.

Georgia returns to the Lonestar state to participate in the Ben Hogan Collegiate, which takes place Sept. 30Oct. 1 in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Colonial Country Club. Next up, the Bulldogs will travel to Biloxi, Mississippi for the Fallen Oaks Collegiate Oct. 19-21. Georgia will wrap up the fall with a trip to Maui, Hawaii, Nov. 2-4 for the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational at Royal Ka’anapali Course.

The Bulldogs will return to action in the spring at the

Puerto Rico Classic at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, home of the PGA TOUR’s Puerto Rico Open on Feb. 9-11, 2025. The team shot a total of 822, 42-under-par, to finish in first by three strokes in 2024. Georgia will then travel out west to Las Vegas for the Southern Highlands Collegiate on March 2-4.

Georgia’s first in-state event will take place in Greensboro for the Linger Longer Classic at the Landings Golf Club on March 16-18. The team will round out the regular season playing in The Godwin in San Francisco, hosted by Stanford University, on March 27-29, and at The Ford, held at the Ford Golf and River Club in Savannah on April 13-14.

The postseason will open with the SEC Championship at Seaside Golf Club on Sea Island, April 23-27. NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 12-14 at a site to be determined (Amherst, Virginia; Bremerton, Wash.; Fayetteville, Ark.; Reno, Nevada; Stillwater, Okla.; and Tallahassee, Fla., are the 2025 hosts). If Georgia advances from the Regional as it has done so in 22 of the last 26 postseasons under Coach Haack’s leadership, it will compete in the NCAA Championship May 23-28 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
