HOMECOMING 2014
JEFF CARLBERG Varsity Head Coach Jr. Knights, Congratulations on a great year for the program. This was a year that saw great improvement from all of our players and teams. Football is a great game that requires a lot of passion and pride. I have enjoyed watching each and every one of you play and practice this season. I am excited about the future because I had a chance to see what the future holds for Centennial High School in watching you all this year. Keep working hard and stay dedicated to this great game. There is no game on earth that is as fun or as great to play as football. With what I have seen this fall, I know that I have much to look forward to as you Jr. Knights come to high school. Our future together is bright and I look forward to each and every one of you continuing to progress toward high school football.

2014 has been a great year for Jr. Knights football. We have seen that loyalty, hard work and dedication are the keys to success. This year many teams improved their records on the field. However, success is not always measured in just wins and losses on the field. In my time with the Jr. Knights program, I have seen many boys become young men of character and that is the thing that we all need to be most proud of.
and that the Jr. Knights program continues to grow and thrive. Lastly, I would like to thank the Board, all of our Coaches, our Team Moms and all of our family members who selflessly volunteered their time and talents this year. The program could not have operated without you! Please remember that the program is only as good as its volunteers, so family participation is vital to its continued success. 2015 will be a new day in Jr. Knights football as many of the longtime board members, including myself and Stacy, will be moving on with their sons to high school. As such, I hope that you feel inspired to step into leadership roles that will be available in the program for the betterment of your families and your communities. Thank you and as always, Go Knights!
This year we continued to do our best to make sure that our players are safe with equipment upgrades and refurbishments and continued our relationship with Gwinnett Medical Center and USA Football to make sure that we follow the “Heads Up safety protocols. We also had many new coaches, players and parents enter the program who added a new sense of energy and vitality to the program. It is my hope that this continues into the future

COACHES
It has been my pleasure to coach the Centennial 8th grade this season. The assistant coaches have worked hard to help these young men to become more than just football players. This game teaches them to deal with success, failure and adversity. They learn how to improvise, adapt and overcome adversity. In other words they are leaning how to become young men who deal with what life throws at them. They learn that to be a success in this life, you must be an honorable hard working person and how to deal with people. It’s a great sport and I am proud to be a small part of it. I want to thank the parents for trusting us with their sons and helping to keep them motivated. The team moms worked very hard at getting us headed in the right direction and I thank them very much. A special thanks to Dan and Stacy Wright, our film crew and coach Carlberg. I expect to see all of these kids playing next year and that starts with weight lifting in early 2015. Again, my thanks to everyone for making this a very good season. Clayton Woods

Football is an honest game. It’s true to life. It’s a game about sharing. Football is a team game. So is life. – Joe Namath
In 2010, the Centennial Jr. Knights football program fielded its first 4th grade team. The program wishes to recognize the special student athletes who were members of that inaugural 4th grade team and who have played every year, through the 8th grade. These student athletes have truly exhibited the loyalty, dedication and perserverence worthy of a “5 Star Knight”. We wish them nothing but the best in high school. Jack Barton, William Bass, Malcolm Beck, Colston Board, Ryan Siracusa and Justin Wright
PRESTON, We are so proud of your efforts, intentions, your courage and resolve this season. You are a great team player and we love you. Mom and Dad.

COACHES
To the Jr. Knights 2014 7th Grade Family: Team, I write this with two games left in the season. Winning these last two games will give us a spot in the playoffs. I love the fact that you guys have dug in your heels and refused to quit. Vince Lombardi once said; “The greatest accomplishments is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall”.
Kiley GreenHead Coach

We have had the toughest, first half of the season, schedule out of any other team. Through this we have battled and lost games and players due to injuries. Most importantly we have learned a lot about ourselves and our team. I’m extremely proud of how we have become stronger through adversity rather than falling apart or becoming divided. I could write something special about each team player because I have seen something exciting come out of each and every one of you. I truly believe that this team will grow and become a more powerful team next year and then move on to help play high school football for the Knights. Thank you for a great season!

I would like to thank all of the Coaches, Team moms, and everyone else who played an important role in this season. We could not have pulled it all off without everyone’s help.

COACHES
What an amazing season by the most amazing team of which I've ever being a part! Your talent, camaraderie and spirit are unmatched by any other group of boys I've coached. I hope that we will all cherish the memory of this season and remember the lessons you learned this year ... that he littlest things can make the biggest difference ... that you get out what you put in and you will perform the same way that you practice ... that it's ok to make because that's how we learn and get better. Most important, remember to always respect yourself, your parents, your teammates, the people in charge. Apply these rules to everything you do and you will almost certainly find success in life. I'll miss you guys! I hope that you'll all come back next year so that we can do it again! Love you guys Coach Ken

COACHES
I am a Knight’s Football Fan… I love everything about it. I could go on for a while with examples of why but, I want to make sure I cover thee important reasons. Passion, I am very passionate about football and teaching the game to young men. I find that we are often dispassionate these days… to absorbed in the details of day to day life. I hope that the coaches and I have infected you with a passion for football. Honor, it’s important that you hold this game and more importantly yourself in high regard. Never let a score or defeat come between you and the feeling of pride you feel in doing your part for your team and yourself. And lastly, Commitment… very hard to define at times and even harder to achieve in the face of adversity. But to do what’s right and to do it to your best ability is my definition. I am proud of each of you for often displaying a Passion for this game, honoring your parents/coaches/ and yourselves, and for stay true in your commitment to be the best you could be. The coaches and I want to thank each family represented on this team for allowing us the privilege of spending some quality time with your young men. We wish each of you the very best both on and off the football field. And never forget that when things are tough you have a team to lean in too!
