MISS SHILOH COMMITTEE & SUPPORT STAFF Lorraine Swinton Georgia Halsey Yvonne Ervin
2015 Miss Shiloh Scholarship Pageant “A Star is Born” is the theme chosen by the Miss Shiloh Committee to celebrate (in grand fashion) the young women who have been dedicated enough to follow through with participation in the 2015 Miss Shiloh Scholarship Pageant. The intention this year was to ensure that the committee helped to create fond memories for everyone connected to the pageant as we prepared to give our friends and family an awesome stage presentation. The song selected for the opening dance is “Hollywood” by Beyonce Knowles. “Hollywood” is a bubbly song with a pop appeal. It’s sure to help set the mood for an evening of pageant fun. You may not know it, and the contestants definitely won’t show it, but many of them were met with countless challenges along the way in their pursuit for the crown. However, through the Miss Shiloh Experience, they have learned resilience. With each teachable moment, they’ve all found purpose and additional confidence in themselves. Tonight, we are here to acknowledge their milestones and personal achievements. We are here tonight showing appreciation for each contestant’s conscious decision to be actively involved in making a difference in their schools. We are here tonight to demonstrate our PRIDE in them AND in the Shiloh Community. The committee wishes each contestant the very best of success tonight and in all the years of their lives. Every young lady is already a winner for simply crossing the stage. They are all “Miss Shiloh” whether they wear the crown or not at the end of the night. The Miss Shiloh Committee and the Shiloh Touchdown Club extend their sincerest THANK YOU’s to each contestant. We’d also like to thank each and every family for sharing your daughter with us and for supporting the Shiloh High School football program in 2015.

SHILOH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
T
he Shiloh Community Foundation (SCF) accomplishes its mission through focused, community-wide events, strong legislative engagement and partnering with community organizations, such as the Centerville Business Association and the Centerville Community Center. SCF was formed in
1996 by a group of concerned parents whose mission was to advance the design and building of the Shiloh High School Stadium, as the school was one of only three built in Gwinnett County in the 1990’s without a football stadium. Once this mission was accomplished, the Foundation evolved into a strong advocate for the community in leveraging business and citizens to make the Shiloh area their home. One way the Foundation gives back is by hosting the Taste of Shiloh – a community-wide event sponsored by the SCF that draws more than 3,000 citizens to its premises along with more than 90 vendors. Funds raised through this event go towards scholarships, programs and community endeavors.

E
THE ROAD TO MISS SHILOH
ngaging students and properly motivating them to pursue secondary education levels are some of the most important factors in creating tomorrow’s leaders. The Miss Shiloh Committee seeks to address this issue in one of its’ many supportive tasks. For years, the Miss Shiloh Executive Committee has hosted the Miss Shiloh Pageant, a venue in which students
have the opportunity to compete for scholarships. The creation of development workshops were added to the pageant process in order to train contestants in life skills and various other proficiencies while being encouraged to become stewards of their community via volunteerism. The contestants can be found participating or assisting in activities such as: the Snellville Days Parade; It’s The Journey 2 Day Cancer Walk; Shiloh High School concession, and the Fall Festival at Shiloh Elementary. The Miss Shiloh 2014 winners were also recognized at the Shiloh Community Foundation’s Celebration of Excellence dinner. It is our hope that the committee will further develop relationships with its’ community partners and receive generous contributions to continue funding scholarships and supporting the high school football program.
