Liberty Bank Becomes an Offi cial Partner of the Millennium Innovations Award

Liberty Bank became an offi cial partner of the Millennium Innovations Award. The Millennium Innovations Award implemented by the Millennium Foundation is a nationwide competition for 13-18 years old students from Georgian public and private schools. The competition, which will run for the eighth consecutive year, is being implemented with the fi nancial support of the US Embassy in Georgia and aims to foster innovation and new technologies among Georgian youth.

The winning team will participate in the Space Center University summer camp at NASA Houston Space Center in the USA. The second and third place winners will also participate in international STEM camps and/or will be awarded with different prizes. "The Millennium Innovations Award founded in 2014 has already become a traditional competition in Georgia,” says Magda Magradze, Executive Director of the Millennium Foundation. “The interest of young people as well as new partners in the competition is growing every year. The competition serves to increase the interest of young people in science and technology, the STEM fi elds, and to encourage the development of innovative ideas and projects. Most of the participants of the competition continue their education in STEM disciplines, which we believe is extremely important for the future development of our country, since there is high demand for qualifi ed professionals is in these fi elds. This year, a new strategic partner - Liberty Bank has joined us. The students who want to participate in the competition must have been born between April 2, 2005 and April 1, 2009. They can submit their innovative projects in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines in the following sub-categories: Space and Aviation, Robotics, Mobile Technologies and Applications, Environment, Healthcare and Nutrition. The submitted projects will be evaluated by an independent evaluation panel.

The traditional partners of the competition are the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) and Sakpatenti. The program is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

The competition can be undertaken in teams: a minimum number of 2, and a maximum of 5.
