lberta’s housing market remains one of the best in the nation, according to one of Canada’s biggest financial institutions. In a report released by TD Economics, Calgary was singled out as an “out-performer” for long-term rate of return, along with Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton and Toronto.

The report suggests housing prices “should embark on a gradual, modest, downward adjustment over the next three years” on a national scale, with the annual rate of return falling from the historical 5.4 per cent to 3.5 per cent. But it leaves plenty of room for optimism for those living in Alberta. Driven by the province’s rising population, which TD predicts will rank behind only B.C. and Ontario for population growth between 2009 and 2030, there is reason to believe Alberta
