On Monday, Klamath Falls City Council will explore the “Streets for All People Policy” and “Safe Routes to Schools Master Plan,” both of which were featured at a series of past planning commission meetings and open houses. Councilors will now vote on whether to approve the framework for each policy in the next years to come. City staff and councilors will also revisit the Streets for All People Policy during a special 6 p.m. work session before the regular meeting. Neither plans have any immediate financial impacts to the city, though both could result in additional city projects related to each policy’s goal. one mile of city and county schools. Several residents stopped by a special workshop in December 2017 to view area maps and offer suggestions for future roadwork efforts. Engineers at Kittelson & Associates also prepared documents for the master plan in June. A nearly $1 million effort to enhance traffic flow and connect more sidewalks on North Eldorado Avenue continues to be one of the largest projects in the city. City Engineer Scott Souders said that the repairs were about 75 percent complete at the last city council meeting.
