WHAT IS A THERMOSTATIC VALVE?
A thermostatic valve allows you to control the temperature (mix of hot and cold water) separately from volume. Once the system is set at a specific temperature, the thermostatic valve will maintain that temperature for the duration of the shower. The mixing valve senses the temperature of the water and constantly adjusts to ensure consistent water temperature is delivered to the showerhead, handshower or other water outlet. Use 3/4" valve for maximum water flow.
WHAT IS THE FLOW RATE OF GERBER’S THERMOSTATIC PLATFORM?
Valve flow rate is 13.9 gpm @ 80 PSI.
WHEN USING THE 3/4" THERMOSTATIC VALVE, IS A SEPARATE VOLUME CONTROL REQUIRED?
Yes. The thermostatic valve only controls the temperature, not the volume. Each outlet requires one volume control valve which turns water on and off. For example, configuration 5 would require 1 thermostatic valve and 3 volume control valves.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ACHIEVE CONSISTENT BODY SPRAY WATER FLOW?
Plumb the body sprays in a loop to ensure each gets equal water supply.
WHAT DIAMETER PIPE IS NEEDED FOR THE 3/4" THERMOSTATIC VALVE?
In order to achieve optimal performance 3/4" piping should be used for a full custom shower. 1/2" piping will reduce the output of the system.
WHAT CONNECTION TYPE DOES THE THERMOSTATIC VALVE HAVE?
The thermostatic valve has NPT-FIP connections for ease of installation.

You might be surprised at how a few well-considered updates can transform a space; that is, when you choose Gerber. The products on these pages offer quality, performance, versatility, and style to elevate your shower to just the right measure.
The Gerber® Treysta® valve platform is a pressure balance system which controls water temperature by adjusting the balance of hot and cold to provide a consistent, comfortable temperature. The Treysta ceramic disc cartridge automatically adjusts based on fluctuations in system water pressure that can occur based on water use throughout the home. Our Treysta cartridge ships with Gerber trim kits.
A diverter valve is used when there are multiple outlets in order to control the flow of water to the outlets, independently or in combination – a perfect solution for shower systems that include multiple components such as a showerhead and handshower. We offer three diverter valves, all with 1/2” connections, depending on the number of outlets and function desired.
IS A TEST PLUG INCLUDED WITH THE TREYSTA® VALVE?
Yes, our innovative test plug is included and ships pre-installed into the Treysta® rough-in. It can be used to test air or water, up to 120 PSI, and can be used to test both mixed and individual hot and cold inlets or to test for system cross-flow. The Treysta pressure balance cartridge ships with the trim.
HOW MANY OUTLETS CAN THE TREYSTA® VALVE SUPPORT?
We recommend 2 outlets for best performance. Depending on the flow rate and the system’s water pressure, it can support multiple outlets with a combined total gpm rating below 7 gpm.
WHAT CONNECTION TYPES ARE OFFERED ON THE TREYSTA® PLATFORM?
Treysta® valves are available in IPS/Sweat, Cold Expansion PEX, and Crimp PEX connection types.
The flow rate is 7.3 gpm @ 80 PSI and can easily supply 2 outlets, even in lower pressure applications.
Yes, the Treysta® cartridge can be easily adjusted to accommodate back-to-back installations or instances where the hot and cold inlets may have been reversed.
We offer two kits that can extend the installation tolerance. Our shallow installation kit, GA663B11, extends the range to 2 3/4" and for deep installations we offer an extension kit, D113001. Both are offered in all of our standard finishes.
