In many respects, the Scandinavian countries in
northern Europe are among the world‘s most modern
and advanced nations. In many areas they serve as role
models, with Scandinavian fashion, music, lifestyle,
furniture and design being much admired – and copied –
the world over.
Parallel to this development, we witnessed
a growing interest in German wine throughout Scandinavia,
with a particular focus on Riesling. This does
not come as a surprise. Germany, as a cool climate wine-
growing country, offers wines which are often lighter
in alcohol but very aromatic and expressive due to
the grapes‘ lengthy ripening period.
