LAUNCH OF THE 2013 FESTIVAL Friday 23rd March saw the fruition of twelve months planning, when the Launch Dinner was hosted by the Chairman,Very Worshipful Brother Derek Young in the presence of the President of the RMBI, Very Worshipful Brother John Moore, together with the Festival President, Right Worshipful Brother W Barrie Hall.
Provincial Grand Master was proposed by the Festival Chairman, and in his response the Provincial Grand Master announced that he had agreed with Grand Lodge that our Province would undertake to raise the sum of ÂŁ1,600,000 for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution during the course of the Festival, which will run for six years and culminate in a maj o r ce le br at or y event in the spring o f 2013.
At the function, every Lodge in the Province was represented, and it was a truly magnificent sight to see the Ballroom so well arranged for the dinner. Some 212 brethren were present including 45 Grand Officers together with 34 Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge.
During this Festival our P r ov i n c i a l G r a n d Master has also agreed to transfer funds to the RMBI on a regular basis throughout the whole of the appeal, hopefully every six months. It is therefore essential that Lodges support this commitment. In fact many have already endorsed this undertaking and have made arrangements to transfer funds into the new Provincial Relief Chest, which is designated E0102.
