5 Important Things to Do If You've Lost Your Phone
We've all lost an eye on our cell phone at one time. After turning the house and car upside down, we then call the phone hoping it will ring nearby and all will be saved. But this past weekend, I really lost my phone; probably at the shopping mall while escorting two rowdy teens. Cell phone thefts reported to the police have doubled over the past year and it's reported that one in four cell phones will end up being stolen. Mobile phones are effortless to steal because they are small and will often be sold on the grey market. It is important to respond to this situation quickly. What was my next course of action?
Back in the day losing a phone wasn't as big of deal as it is now. Phones are notably more expensive now, and hold a lot more sensitive data. It might be too late to know this, but it is really important to lock your phone with a password. That way any sensitive data on your phone is safe. Also, you want to have your phone's ESN, IMEI or MEID amount (usually found behind the battery or on the back of the iPhone near the FCC ID) in case you lose your phone.
