how’s the market? We have seen an upswing in the market following the 4th of July holiday week. With most school years starting back during the first couple of weeks of August we will likely see a small dip in the market, so if you are thinking of placing your property on the market this year, now is the time to get those last minute repairs and improvements completed. Sellers, be ready for September! Once families readjust their households to the school schedule the market will be back in full force. I predict September to be a hot month for buying and selling.

August 18: Kickin Chicken Wing Fest Join the Junior Board of The Literacy Council of Central Alabama for the Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest 2018! Hosted by our friends at Ghost Train Brewing Company, Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest is a chicken wing cook off benefiting The Literacy Council’s programs – adult literacy, family literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and GED preparation. Your ticket includes all the tasty chicken wings you can eat, as long as they last, from our competing teams. There will be live music from Riverbend and Camryn Grace Music, plus a Kid’s Zone, so you can bring the youngsters. And, of course, Ghost Train will be selling their tasty brews. featured success story I had the pleasure of marketing a 1900 built property in Avondale that had been on the market twice in 2010 for $189,000 and $164,000. This property was originally purchased in 2008 for $65,000. The owner renovated it from top to bottom. The market crashed. She was left holding a hot potato along with a few others and she needed help. She sold the property to her In-Laws who then rented the property out until our recent marketing
